Id normally think ah ye load of boll*x totally over the top by the media but I seen this with my own eyes ,
100 is probably over the top but id say there was probably about 70 of them , it was very odd to see that many black teenagers together in the one place in Ireland,

You have to remember 70 is still a huge amount of people together causing trouble , quite scary actually , Worse part was it did seem to be organised and they knew well there is no Garda station in the area, Plus Portmarnock is no exactly the kind of area you would get a vigilante group is it,

Quite a strange event , I heard 2 or 3 years ago there was similar trouble in the summer with the same number of black teens on the beach there,

It's all a bit bizarre and something id never seen before , id never even seen that number teens in group causing trouble,

The little problem with arson of family homes is that the people least able to escape a burning house, infants, the infirm and the elderly, are the ones least likely to have mugged anyone while the young man who did has the best chance of getting out unscathed.

Vigilantism is no substitute for a functioning system of law and order. Sadly as the Irish State increasingly declines to provide law and order more and more people will turn to vigilantism.

These kids are 100% from Balbriggen and have been causing trouble for a while on the Dart line / train line , There crafty enough that they stay away form so called rougher area's , targeting Howth, Sutton , Malahide, Portmarnock ,

The Garda really need to crack down hard on them

I don't get why people say race doesn't matter and it should not be mentioned? It does! This is an imported problem, our politicians decided to change our country forever with mass immigration, they are happy to take the credit for the positive effects immigration has brought to Ireland so they need to take responsibility for the negative effects as well.

If there is a disproportionately high rate of this kind of thing happening among the African community, then call it out, at least that way we are better able to work with those communities and tackle it better. It may be an uncomfortable talk, you may have African friends who are sound and you do not want to scrutinise Africans in general as you may feel you are attacking innocent individuals that may suffer from these yobs behavior but what is the alternative? More violence that's what.

And in the off chance any politicians are reading this. The idea of immigration is a beautiful one, everyone getting along and ideas being shared etc, but life is not a disney movie, it doesn't always work out like that, people are not stupid so do not treat us as such and acknowledge that this kind of thing is going on, people are aware and we want to know what you are going to do about it, if you don't and start calling people racist for calling a spade a spade it won't be long before we have our own even more hard lined version of Trump here. People just want sensible policies.

My OH Lived in Balbriggan maybe 10 years ago.

I would visit the odd time, and the thing that struck me was the massive housing developments and the large number of non-nationals in them.

Are you for real ? white gangs of teenagers have been causing problems in Ireland since time began, Robbing cars, selling drugs , robbing houses, muggings,

This just happened to be a case where the teenagers where black , Teenagers being Ares holes isn't a new thing at all, only new thing about this was so many but it seems the number was a once off,

I grew up seeing gangs of teenagers flashing stolen cars around the estate with maybe 30/ 40 egging them on it happens no matter what the colour,

Because it doesn't, they're not behaving like this simply because they are black.
I suspect that if you had a bunch of white kids, growing up in similar circumstances, similar prospects, parenting etc. etc. etc. they would behave in much the same way (see plenty of them around the IFSC for example).

So in that respect it doesn't matter what colour they are.

However I think you're absolutely correct in saying it should be more possible to point out that there is a problem (if there is) with a particular community regardless of what colour or ethnicity that community is and that doesn't seem to be possible a lot of the time. Instead what we tend to get are the loudest voices from either side looking to apportion blame and the sensible soft voices in the middle go completely unheard.

So yeah it's not an easy subject to approach in any kind of meaningful way I guess, let's hope that changes soon.

We are experiencing a new level, there are levels, not everything is the same, there just may be some logic in the fact that people growing up in more violent societies than here may bring that violence with them, I am not talking about individually but I mean as a community, you know the same way Jewish people on average have higher iqs, but we can mention that as it's a positive difference. My point is not all cultures are the same, we are able to celebrate positive differences so let's not live in a fantasy world and pretend negative ones do not exist, it will cause more damage than it creates.

I think you'd be in pretty thin ice suggesting that some races are genetically predisposed to be more violent that others*. Culturally perhaps, although most of these will have grown up here.

If anything I'd put it down to just more and more extreme behaviours we're seeing in society as a whole, porn, politics, social media, everything seems to be heading towards extremes.

*I lived with a black guy for years and he'd be close to the top of the least violent and most chilled out person I've ever met, but....he was from the Caribbean

What's needed here is some good old fashioned vigilante justice.
