Deirdre Jacob missing twenty years Today.

Just saw on the news the family of Deirdre Jacob making another appeal on the Twenty anniversary of her disappearance.
I always remember this case being on Crimeline/Crimecall growing up and seeing her parents age as the years went on.
It's strange to think that somebody out there might know something and aren't coming forward.

There is a link. There was a card or ad found amongst the granny's things with Larry offering his services. So in theory he could well have known DJ from calling to tbe shop.

AGS can leak all of this info to the media but they cant tell us what the new evidence is. And probably never will. Something doesnt look right. Why go to the media at all if the information is so strong as to be able to reclass this from missing person to murder.

The Gardai normally release this information if they want the suspect to do something or go somewhere etc

It does look amateurish. They are preparing to take another look at the CCTV again.

This is reading a bit like Ian Bailey all over again, no shred of evidence, but they do have a self made "admission" in odd circumstances and they now finally have a suspect, 20 years after the girl disappeared.

A media article in a certain in the last 3 months had an above named person as living in North County Dublin with a european girlfriend. The same paper today said hes in the UK. It doesn't make sense to me how they can report 2 complete opposites

They are obviously getting drip fed info from the Guards.

I don't agree with the death penalty but reading about the chief suspect here who is considered "a high risk for reoffending" I wouldn't be bothered.

I'm all for proper sentencing but we voted in 2001 to get rid of the death penalty and it's not coming back.

I'm intrigued as to how it's been updated from a missing person to a murder investigation without a body or a known confession?

Trevor Deely investigation is still classed as missing person when they searched for his body lot of media hype about that search and nothing since. the exact same can be said for the case of Tina Satchwell searched for her body but still missing person investigation

Yeh but Deirdres parents said the same re LM? Thought I read that anyway. Jo Jo went missing from Moone. Well away from her gome in KK. The chances of her bumping into some she knew in Moone must be remote.

Probably get longer in prison than him.

Part of me feels that we really know no more than we did over the course of DJs disappearence. We all pretty much knew LM was a suspect.

I hope this is not the guards just drip feeding info to try and get a response from a criminal without real evidence. That would be cruel on the jacob family.

You'd definitely wonder why the disappearances all stopped abruptly (and never recommenced). Serial killers don't normally retire, they usually keep going until they're eventually caught.

Jo jo dollard was last seen in Moone south kildare. 20-30 mins from Newbridge? Young gilrs dont just vanish.

LM was connected to DJ through the Grandmothers shop no matter how thin.

The girl he was convicted of raping wouldnt have got away but for luck.

I wonder has he confided in someone or some kind of info or evidence was missed / over looked.

Hopefully its the beginning of the end for him.
