Talk to any gay couple in Dublin and many will tell you that they still have reservations holding their partners hands walking down the street for fear of abuse of attack. Thats real that happens. So we are not there yet when it comes to feeling safe and being accepted.
Homophobia is alive and well, sure just look at some of the less acceptable comments on this thread about gay people, as an example.
