One of teachers had an Impreza (the first generation model), was only a 1.6 though, which kind of spoiled it.

He also had a Glanza (late 90s one), I think that was a turbo model come to think of it.

BMW too, a lot of VW and Ford also

They tend to be more adventurous in secondary. The INTO car draw is for an Auris or corrolla.

If I wasn't driving 70 miles a day just to work I would daily a 6 cyl BMW petrol for definite. A Z4 3.0si coupe to be precise.

A latin teacher at my school had (has) a lovely W124 E220, always struck me as an oddly nice car for a priest.

Fellas doing rings in their car wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Often you see roads covered in tyre marks here, but at least they're not endangering other road users. I would imagine they wait until there isn't another car in sight for fear of being caught.

I've a buddy a priest. He's a 1976 280sl and was considering an escort cisworth before he got that. His daily is a glc 220d

Came very close to ploughing into a car today. Coming around a tight enough left corner only doing about 40kmh if even that. Car pulled in to the left, in a terrible place still had left indicator on and it was stationary so I pulled out a bit to go past leaving a reasonable amount of clearance. Guy essentially locks the wheels right and goes to pull out at same time at a serious angle basically across the road as I am not far off level with his rear I can't ever remember standing on the brakes so hard and had to swerve to the right more nothing coming towards me. My car stopped dead at this point guy stopped looked back and waved like it was nothing he clearly never checked before moving out as he would of seen me or car behind me. It was seriously close my passenger front corner would of been buried in his driver side Pillar. It funny in them really close ones its like time almost slows down to nothing in the seconds leading up to it.

Why people park in such bad places where there is double yellow lines although you shouldn't need them to tell you its a bad place.

Sounds dodgy alright .......... he's well into his 50s and a shrewd man. He's a bit of a wheeler dealer. Vintage cars etc would be his thing.

He did have a Capri......... no 318is (that I know of, I only know him 5/7 years ish), he had a BMW 2002 before the Capri.

That'd be him so, Capri was indeed Gold, he might have had a 318is as a daily actually now that I think of it

He got a modern 3 series diesel a few years back as a daily that did replace an older BMW that I never saw.

Got stuck behind somebody today for a few miles doing 60 in 80 zone.They dropped to 50 here and there.

I thought I might try it myself to see how it feels but there was some unknown force stopping me.

Good god I tried but the car kept reaching 80 or 100.

I could actually feel, sense even hear the thoughts of the drivers behind me.

I actually couldn't do it. It felt weird even contemplating it.

On the other hand it feels good leading your commuting herd at a speed everybody is delighted with. Feels like a pat on the back when I turn off !

How much would you expect to pay for an interior valet, full shampoo and dash clean. Car is in no ways bad, just the seats are slightly stained. I know it depends on the place, but I was quoted 70 off a run of the mill corner Street place. Bit steep I thought?

Local place in KK same kind of back street operation will do full outside and inside valet for less than that remember getting the golf done and was spotless afterwards. Cleaned glass, shampoo wet vacuum seats/interior/boot cleaned and shined all plastics, de tar, waxed exterior and gave the wheels a fair going over.

So I reckon it is steep for just a run of the mill cleaning place to do it.

Is 70 around the average for a normal shampoo etc? Been a few years since I got one done so may be out of tune a bit.

Yeah we always take out the front seats at the very least, if we can. 70 IMO is still cheap, it takes me about 2 hours to properly shampoo Cloth seats as they're fairly tedious to do right, depends on the level they go to!

Have the loan of a George whenever I want. Done the Mondeo interior thinking it would be great fun, the enjoyment left after the first seat :pac: Would rather pay someone to do it!

Got the missus Peugeot done yesterday as it's the workhorse with the children even though I have a George just dont have the interest lol.

Local place near me has 2 guys working together so they washed and done a quick polish and cleaned interior and did seats and carpets all for 55euro I felt guilty so gave them an extra tenner .
They took about 3 hours to do it from start to finish.
To be fair it's a hard job in the heat of late and I think for 80% of Irish people they would do a grand job.

For the other 20% the likes of d and d detailing in cork and detailing shed in Dublin are on a different scale but the people who go there expect perfection and are happy to pay accordingly.
