Why bother feeling the need to be this insulting to anyone posting on the thread? I don't agree with some of the people posting on here but calling them meninists throwing a tantrum is unnecessarily provocative? What's the point of doing it? What are you hoping to achieve? Also, have you personally being campaigning continuously for 35 years?

As soon as the result came in there was a rush of thread along the lines of ...legalise prostitution, let men disregard parenthood the way a woman can.

Might say more about AH than anything but its still interesting.

Not insulting, a simple observation. Have you called out all the people throwing around terms like "feminazi" in this same thread?

My mother has campaigned since before the 8th was inserted into the constitution, her friends and my sisters and myself have campaigned since the day the marches began to get it out. We've canvassed, we've received untold amounts of abuse these past months alone. We earned this.

If you or anyone else feel very passionately about giving men the right to walk away from being a parent (a right they already exercise, as has been pointed out) then start a movement. That's what we had to do.

Get some personal stories. Get some posters. Get some momentum. No one will stop you. I'll even hear you out. But I'm not sorry for coming across as "provocative" when we're celebrating a historic win for women's rights only to have the same old faces slinking in feigning concern about how unfair this is because "what about men."

I'm saying if a men decided he doesn't want the child why should he be legally obliged to pay for the child, Why can't he opt out of parenting like the women can if she wants ,

True however even if current laws to be impacted they probably would not terminate unless she asks and there is a 72 hour waiting period. As for the sepsis if the staff had been doing there job they would have been able to treat her and had a termination as is allowed by the law. Look I am glad the law is in less glad about the 12 week but I can live with it. There was so much more the yes side could have a stuck to for a Yes vote without using this horrible death.

It's illegal for women to walk away too but some do it. So all is equal there for men and women opting out by walking away.

Men will have the right to choose, the same as women. If a man gets pregnant then he can have an abortion under the same limits as women after this referendum/legislation is signed. That's what we voted on.
Stop tagging on extra things and pretending they are the same.
