General Arcade and Retro Chat - Insert Coin -

The shooting in fortnite feels cack to me. That auto aim, combined with the constant hopping that seems to be the play style just ends up with people spamming both trigger buttons. Takes away a lot of the game.

I had hope since I was a huge GOW online player. GOW 2 definitely is responsible for a few or my college projects lacking some points.

Same here but there's just something about PUBG. It's hard to take seriously because of how random it is but when you are doing well there's a lot of tension. It's just great to stick on for 20 minutes and play something dumb but fun. Not been grabbed by a multiplayer game like it in quite a while. I think I like it because it doesn't feel competitive as the odds are stacked so much against you, it's more a battle of survival than trying to score higher than everyone else.

The Wii motion bar cable is actually from Satan. It seems like it's almost 12 feet long and managed to get tangled around absolutely everything. Took 15 minutes to work it through. Almost took a scissors to it.

Anyway, onto the CRT/gaming porn!

What kind of BNC cables did you use?

I bought the RGB + CS BNC to male scart cable so I can plug it straight into a scart switcher and that helps reduce the clutter.

Yeah I've one of them going from the bandridge scart thing to the monitor alright. However I then have a BNC to BNC cable going from the BVM RGB out to the LMD RGB in. Some piece of cabling! :O

You just inspired me to do a bit of reshuffling too!

Whatever it is about the Screen Mask on the Grundig portable on the left I think the C64 looks better on it than on the BVM.

Maybe its because I had a screen mask portable originally when we had our first c64.

The Anker speaker is on sound duties because I love chiptune.

Luckily I have breakout audio cables for the playstation and C64, and I use the headphone jack into the aux of the speaker for the Mega Drive.

Shadow mask monitors are actually better for text than Trinitron Aperture grille, so that might be why the C64 looks better?

Ah I joined the elite Veccy clan a good few years back!

Still has perfect alignment but takes a minute or 2 to power on.

Im just not use to seeing scanlines on the c64, it seems to be better suited to the mega drive and snes I think.

Possibly because of the slightly higher resolution of those consoles.

Its a croc skull I bought in Kruger park the last time I was on Safari in SA, had to put it in a case to keep the cats from chewing on it

The PSX has a nice music visualiser built in, how very 2005 of it!

Yeah they are gorgeous pieces of kit but no way I'd pay that. Someone in West cork was selling that square Sony one a while back, I missed out on it

£750 though...I'd rather go to the big charity shop down the road and get an old 22" Sony CRT for €10

To put it in perspective, you'd get many candy cabs for less. I know what I'd rather have!

Anyone know how to access the menu on the ikegami tm14? In the middle of getting my MD hooked up to it and need to correct the picture

According to a post on The CRT Collective Facebook page 4 days ago, the TM line don't have menus as they're all analog. Not sure how true it is.

10!! I'm not made of money! Sure my trinitron was saved from a skip in the dump..and just cost me a scornful look from the guy working there!

Mine will show a RGB signal but not Composite....

I wonder did Retr0 get to it?

I had similar issue with a PVM before that I just couldn't figure out. Composite would always come through in black and white, whether it was an NTSC or PAL signal.

I must look for a pdf of the Ikegami service manual, if such a thing exists, identify the pots and get twiddling!
