If we had one government

The problem I see with all these different countries is trade.
We currently have some countries rich and some countries starving.
We currently have enough food to feed everyone.
We currently have a system where we have wars to control all the countries on the oil delivery route. This leads to terrorism and isis type crowds.
We have a system where everyone has to work everyday. If we didn’t we wouldn’t trade with other countries and profit from them and gdps etc etc.
Why not have one country. Resources are divided up economically, some places do some jobs some places do another. Everyone works less.
Ireland could grow the food other countries could do what their climate or skill set allow. There would be no need to invent the next big thing that goes into landfill in a year or two.
Provided the boss of the world isn’t corrupt this in my opinion is the best form of world management.
Imagine the whole country just had to make sure we did a good job growing food. We’d all be home from work at lunchtime enjoying the few measly years you get on earth.
No famines or currencies or shops running out of toilet roll because the dictator caused inflation.

Would it be such a bad thing?

There would be better division of resources. We wouldn’t be tricking people to buy new stuff. Car factories washing machine factories binman jobs would all shrink.
Banking jobs stock brokers accountants all gone.
In ten years robots will be able to do a lot of jobs.

I am retired. I was an accountant.
From what you are saying you have little idea of business.
You need control.
Money is used in economies. Banks are needed.
If you have ever seen a business run without records (I have) you will be picking up the pieces in a bankruptcy very soon after.

Go light on one of these areas and there will be trouble.

Your plan is not a plan. It’s fairly incoherent but it looks like you want the world to have one government but no money and no trade. People will still work (for what?) but only half as much as they so now. After that every body will be rich.

Again there would be no money no trade. Think outside the box here. Man mines and finds copper. It’s sent to the copper factory. They send it where copper is needed. No price of copper. No need for copper unless we need to plumb something.
No building 20 hotels in a city that will only need 10. No bankruptcy no business battles just a lad deciding a city with x amount of tourism needs x amount of hotels.
It’s simple really.

About 40 years back I worked in a country where 90% or more of the income of the country was the sale of copper.

How f ing hard is it to understand. There is no countries and no money. An area that’s good at making cars will make cars. A whole area. 20 hour weeks.

I think we are trying to work out how the factories are enticed to make cars with no money, where they buy (or get) their materials from to make the cars with no trade and no money, why all this happens within a 20 hour week, and how the cars get to whomever wants them in the absence of trade, money and markets. Also about the one government - how is it elected?

Let me give an example.
If everyone decides they like making cars and refuse to do any other work then you have no food, no roads, no houses, no aircraft, no washing powder.
But you have lots of cars, many of them incapable of use as they are built by gardeners, or window cleaners, or childcare workers.

Your ideal world economy has no incentives and no penalties, just people doing what they want.

It’d take a few years to start. We wouldn’t just tell everyone in Dublin that they are farmers now and send them to mayo.

Everyone in the world works for each other.

It’s very simple once you take out the capitalism mindset.

If you don’t work you don’t get fed unless you are sick or disabled. Maybe we could send them to the jobs nobody else wants.

Smartest in each area would be trained doctors and other vital services the rest would do whatever amount of hours needed to do what’s needed.

People would get a few holiday passes or whatever a year.

I think society as we know it was made at a time when we needed it now it’s time for change.

That’s basically a crazy Marxism. Now you are telling people what to do. It’s a totalitarian system where the “smartest” have to work long hours, everybody has to work or starve, and the (global) state is clearly deciding who eats and who doesn’t.
