I was disappointed with some of Tony Kelly's behavior in yesterdays game. In the ear of the ref and linesman at several times trying to influence decisions, screaming at the ref for a black card when he was fouled and particularly, an elbow in the back of a KiB defender when he had lost control of the ball which led to a scuffle between the teams and treatment for the player. I was talking to a work colleague who had his 7 and 8 year old boys at the game and he said there was an awful lot going on which is setting an outright bad example to children. The Clondegad's player behavior in getting sent off was embarrassing. Clondegad lost several intermediate finals before making the leap to senior. Hopefully similar resilience in coming years will see them back competing on county final day.

Of course each case is individual and they all have their own reasons, which should be respected. But if the feeling around the squad was that we have a serious shot at a Munster or All-Ireland, or both, in 2018, you'd rarely see so many people opting out?

A last gasp point from Midleton CBS seals a 2-17 to 2-16 over the Ennis school to book a place in the final in the competition where the Cork school will take on Thurles CBS. Flannans showed tremendous heart and courage and as a collective group from both players and management, they should take great pride in what was an enthralling encounter in Ballyagran today. Commiserations to one and all. Best of luck to Midleton CBS in the final though.

Nicknamed the Duck, Honan was outstanding in his early years with his performance with Clare U21's in 2009 and especially against Galway in the All-Ireland U21 semi-final where he was absolutely outstanding in that same year. However injury plighted his career and while he did play a key role in Clare's All-Ireland glory in 2013, it has been a struggle since then for the Clonlara clubman. Best of luck on your inter-county retirement Darach!

Nice hurler too. yep the dog ate my homework on this one , was full sure it was the county player in fact a number of people around me taught the same , the lad who came on was descent in fairness in truth it was a joke on murroe/ B to make them play 3 games in a week , the fact is they probably would have won this by a few points had they adequate time to recover , common sense needs to take hold here in these situations , munster council or county boards dont give a dam about player welfare
