Hi all,

It's hard to believe that there's just two and a half weeks to our final regular season event of the year. :eek:

This year's Captain's Prize takes place in the world tourism capital of the world (according to the Healy Rae's

), Killarney. The venue is the famous Killeen Course, four-time host of the Irish Open which was won by amongst others Nick Faldo. Here is what the golf club website says about the course: "Killeen golf course is what we like to think of as our piece de resistance here at Killarney Golf Club, and there is very good reason for such a grand statement. The backdrop to Killeen is something very special indeed and provides golfers with a spectacle that cannot be seen anywhere else in the world. The wonderful lake and mountain views make for a spectacular backdrop to one of the world’s most renowned golf courses".

This is the last chance to accumulate points towards the Ryder Jug team and Golfer of the Year and with the standings so close every point could be crucial so I would suggest you make every effort to make it if you can. It's also the last chance to impress in the quest for Captain's Picks!

The first tee-time is at 12.00 so let me know your availability via teamer and post any requests for early/late tee-times here. Hopefully as many of you as possible will be able to stay over for a night on the town in the Kingdom also. Some have already confirmed whether they require a bed in Killarney for the night, if anyone else requires one please let us know. Some have already given me deposits. I will transfer those to SeveOB.

Also some people are planning on playing golf on the Friday (some in Ballykisteen, others elsewhere) so feel free to post plans or ideas. Looking forward to a great day and night in Killarney. For those travelling, be aware that Adare can be a bit of a bottleneck at weekends so give yourself plenty time . I know some people tend to go via Mallow to avoid Adare traffic so maybe look into that also.

I'm off on the Friday, so looking at a B&B halfway down so I've only an hour or so to cover the following morning.

Not 100% to go for a spot in Adare, or for Mitchellstown/Mallow?

I'm most likely going to be travelling from Limerick on the Saturday morning. I'll be going relatively early but I could collect someone from Limerick Junction if they wanted to get the train down.

Mallow would be alot closer and better accommodation than mitchelstown (from a mitchelstown man ) but if you want to stay in mitchelstown look up the firgrove hotel or the clongibbon hotel in the town.

See there is an open on in Dromoland for €35 on Friday, never played it but it looks class.

yea actually surprised myself looking at the list there when you said that, i think there could be 8 or 9 lads there I've never played with, kind of mad considering we've been going a good few years now! It's been a while since I played a game with Tiger, hopefully he has been to a Golf Digest event recently and has the bag stocked

i think just the pair of us along with el captain are the only past winners in the field. good chance for a new name on the trophy.

but i'd rather it be me again

....think if i managed that, i would also get my name on the GOTY trophy for a second time also.

big ask though, not on top form. I'm as sick as Tiger was last year

Seve are all the rooms gone? only back from my holidays 33 hrs spent on a boat because of the storms and for 12 of them I was sea sick! Brian was meant to organise something with tiger but he was to busy in work. were going to head sat morning and stay sat nite

I should be drug free this year but trying hard to rekindle some form:)
