This is of course the point at which you sneer and say that this is boxing, a different sport, these guys train their whole lives to take punches, to throw punches......... blah blah blah.
But the truth is, nobody really knows if he can punch harder than other boxers Floyd has faced, or even Floyd himself. There is no evidence to support saying he can anyway, but then nor is there evidence to say he can't either.
Guess we'll soon find out.

ThinkProgress wrote: » Eh, last time I checked Nate took everything Conor threw at him... In fact Nate finished stronger than Conor in that 2nd fight, which doesn't suggest he was suffering too much! If a very average fighter like Nate, can take Conor's best shots... Why would a legendary boxer such as Mayweather have any issues!? (Assuming Conor can actually land anything of substance - Nate is much easier to hit)
But it is a different sport... and they are specialists when it comes to punching... Both delivering, evading and also enduring punches... It's all they do! So it would just be common sense to suggest, that they are the best in this respect! But some of you guys just prefer to ignore, or disregard logic... Because you want to delude yourselves into believing the Conor McGregor hype machine! Why is it "sneering" for people to point out fairly obvious logical common sense things!?
He is very unlikely to hit Floyd clean... because he simply doesn't have the boxing ability to do it... so there is a very good chance, that we will never even get the opportunity to see what kind of damage his best punch can do!
Secondly, Floyd is a very different animal to the guys that Conor has finished in the UFC... If he couldn't KO Nate...
And also Paulie got hit flush (not on the headgear), but didn't get KO'd either... So how is he going to KO Floyd...??
Floyd has been hit hard in boxing ring... but nobody has even managed to knock him down, and you think a novice boxer making his pro debut, could be the one to KO him??? lol
Most of us already know... and that's not being arrogant, or dismissing the UFC... It's just common sense logic. If Floyd fights anywhere remotely close to his potential... Conor is pretty much guaranteed to lose! He has zero control over the outcome of this match... It's all about Floyd.
