Spider Web wrote: » It's "not allowed"? Who's not allowing it? How is nitpicking in order to downplay a multiple murder "interest in debate/holding an alternative view"? I don't think all Muslims should be demonised, I know that most ISIS victims are also Muslims, I don't think there should be internment or coercion (that would end up affecting innocent people) but I really find the whataboutery, downplaying and focus on trivial semantics - when several people have been murdered - to be utterly odious. It's like some people think they can't be both critical of Islamist violence and opposed to discrimination against Muslims. I love too how there is emphasis on the "angry" people being the ones vociferously condemning the attack, rather than... y'know... the extremists themselves.

What did internment and torture do in the North except lead to a massive increase in violence and exacerbated sectarian tensions. Many of the 'suspects' that were arrested and tortured turned out to have no connection with paramilitaries at all.

If you want to diminish the culpability of terrorists, at least have the moral fibre to come right out and say it.
