A fit Bale - yes. Jose has said he wants a attacking threat from wide. Bale is near perfect.

I'd play him from the right, off Lukaku, where I thought Greizman would play. So in place of Mata. Could play him left side instead of Rashford/Martial either, but i'd prefer Rashford to keep that place. Bale can also play through the centre if needed.

As you say, the worry with Bale is the injury record and how long his body will support his style (and if he will adapt as Ronaldo has). That is a huge worry, and why i would spend a decent chunk more on Neymar over Bale if i was given the free choice.

Play him anywhere behind lukaku, from the right left or in the no10 role. He would probably be allowed to go where he wants to be honest

Bale is world class and once his calf injury issues are dealt with and sorted, he would bring an immediate improvement to the team and goals.

We need an attacking player who brings proven goals.

Jose said he wants a midfielder and a player who can play wide in an attacking position.
Bale fills that criteria for the attacking position.

Just get Verratti for the other

It seems that the 3 DM targets this summer are Matic, Dier and Fabinho. For some reason the interest in Fabinho fizzled out, maybe the sources got it wrong and Utd were never after him. As for Matic and Dier, both are with direct rivals which makes it all the more difficult to do a deal. Chelsea and Spurs appear to be doing their best to take Man Utd to the cleaners in terms of a transfer fee.

With that in mind and if we were to believe that there is no other "proper" DM out there that Jose has identified, would the club be better turning their attention to Verratti?

Not necessarily a DM, but he can play in a deeper role. The fact that Mino Raiola is now his agent would definitely suggest the door could be opened on a move to Old Trafford if the player was open to it.

Could a DM be sacrificed in favour of Veratti? Would a midfield 3 of him, Pogba and Herrera work? On paper its a terrific trio. As well as Marco, Ander could also play the deeper role, so I could see those 2 interchanging with Pogba still getting the extra freedom he needs to push forward.

I reckon this deal will have to go threw. The player doesn't seem to want to go to Italy or he would be gone already the only way I can see him not joining United is if Chelsha refuse to sell and he is left training with reserves and he just goes to Italy as he has no other option.

IF Bale can put his injury issues behind him, and could be got for reasonable money £100-120m, then I'd see him on the left where Persic is earmarked for.
A fit Bale would massively improve the team.

With the addition of a DM, then for big teams Utd would probably line up with 3 in midfield and with just 2 for teams we should be easily beating with 3 & 1 up front.

Being linked with Emil Forsberg now, would much prefer him to Perisic, something like 20 assists last year. Probably a waste of time going after him anyway with what RBS were demanding for Keita.

You may need to re-phrase "reasonable money 100-120m"

That is smashing the world transfer record, probably only 2 or 3 teams in the world you could afford that

I'm sure it's a negotiation between what the selling club thinks they are worth and what the buying club thinks they are worth.

Club A could value the player at 50m but club B could value player at 30m. They ask Club A for their valuation and if they are willing to sell but only value player at 30m and the 2 clubs could then negotiate to a fee that both think is fair..

A lot of selling clubs play hardball over their figures these days as they know that most clubs have plenty of money

If a player is causing trouble at the club, power is with buying club. Eg payet

If a player doesnt have long left on contract. Eg sanchez or toni kroos

If player is on high wages and the club want to get rid of player. Eg van persie or nani

All above situations are good for buying club, bad for selling club

There is a website you can go to, takes in a load of different variables, age, position, international player, team etc etc they give a market value for each player. Will try and find it for you, but even in the space of a few months it is probably out of date considering some of the transfers went through this summer.

Kyle walker is probably worth 25m. Arsenal probably value bellerin around 30m mark.

Walker goes to a direct rival in the league for 50m.

If chelsea or utd went in for bellerin his value has then rose in line with what walkers is. Arsenal would probably then value him around the 50m-55m mark all because of what walker went for.

I said that earlier actually. If mbappe does go for 160m then yes rashford would be worth around the 90-100m considering his age etc

He was actually valued at 72m last september so yes 90-100m would be a fair reflection on the transfer market

Bayern Munich by all accounts got James for a reasonable price albeit a loan at first..it's just the English clubs paying the huge fees. AC Milan have bought really well this summer. No massive fees as far as I know

No, because united are involved the price goes up hugely.

If dortmund went for perisic his price would be a lot less than it is
