Welcome to the Mayo GAA discussion thread - Chapter 3, yer trotting them out quicker than a Mills & Boon Romance !.

This is one of the most active forums on Boards.ie. As a result, discussion can get quite heated. But there are certain things posters must realise are simply not OK to post:

Higgins is not a sweeper. Never was. Never will be.

To be fair to O'shea and Brolly, they raised valid concerns about us esp Caff. He has been very loose all year. I don't care about previous games to this season but against Galway, Derry and Cork yesterday he has been very loose but he is just back from injury and it is probably too early for him.

Thought it was a bit much bringing up clips of Cafferkey from 3/4 years back. He was injured when Kerry got that goal to draw the semi final in 2014 and Hennelly hardly covered himself in glory for Brogan's goal in 2013.

Yes but they Completley ignored all the positives around our forward play as it doesn't **** their narrative
Anyway it's piss poor "analysis " as usual

I've no sympathy for them losing games to sky
Another dig from Brolly about that tonight

How about they just try and improve their own coverage !

While I agree that it may not be a great place to put him, I think Coen has the balls to do it, he seems a very solid unflustered player. He was captain of that U21 team and showed a lot of leadership.

If Caff remains we will be here this day week watching his arse wiped off the grass. He is a 100% liability at the moment and that is only going to get worse.

Agree on Higgins, way out of sorts and off the pace. Something which hasn't been said much on main stream.

He isn't a full back though
It's probably the most specialist position
Sure if it was just a case of throwing a big lad in we have had plenty of options

I think move back to last years system or donie
And I'd lean towards a blend of both tbh!

Higgins is fast becoming a liability which is sad to say

With his pace and the fact he is no longer offering as much defensively I think he should be one of our impact subs

He was diabolical for that last 15 minutes

Ya its a pity to see that, legs seem to be going. But he loves croker, so lets see.

In fairness to them they did highlight the forwards, mentioned 21 scores from 24 chances or whatever, mentioned that 10 people scored and mentioned that in the past they have criticised Mayo's forwards.

They generally don't give MOTM for games they don't show.

I agree with you that the analysis is very poor. Brolly never addresses the question he is asked. He was asked about Galway and then proceeded to talk about Donegal! Sky is way ahead of them. The hurling analysts on the Sunday game are also way ahead of their football counterparts

No they changed the time to TBC sat evening .........speculation is now that we are the 4pm game

2 would be ideal but I also think it will be at 4. Christ traffic is going to be unreal Sunday with the 3 Connacht teams. It'll be an early morning departure I'm thinking

Might just wander it at 4.10, sure they'll delay the game for us...

Guaranteed a crowd when Mayo and Dublin play, so theyll always have us on at the later game. Otherwise if we were on at 2pm it would be empty for the 2nd half of the Gway and Kerry game.
