The last thread was nearing the 10k post limit so here's part 4.

The same rules as the last thread apply here. People seem to have strong opinions either way when it comes to McGregor and threads here tend to get a bit heated from time to time. Please keep it civil and discuss all things Conor in a mature way.

Any name-calling, trolling, baiting, or being a general ass-hat will earn you a ban from the thread and possibly the forum.

Lads consider this the one and only warning - big fight with a lot of hype around it. It brings new fans to the forum as well as the regulars so try and get along. Any trolling or nonsense and people will find themselves on a break from the forum and that applies to everyone.

Just so we're all on the same page and can have a reasonable discussion about who won each conference, I've put together:

Judging criteria for press conferences

1. Effective barbs
2. Effective comebacks

1 and 2 shall be weighted according to format. Where the majority of the conference consists of "back and forth" criterion 2 shall take precedence.

3. Effective control of the stage . This includes, but is not limited to, arrival time, use of "crews" and seating arrangements.

4. Personal fashion style, including footwear.

The use of thick soled or heeled shoes shall be assessed under criterion 4, not 3.

I reckon 1 of two things happened last night.

1) Showtime put pressure on McGregor to ease off on his performance as Floyd et Al were looking awful in comparison. They have sway and that would explain why it was so bad and why Conor looked so píssed off

2) sometimes a performer (and that's what Conor is at the moment) will put on a shítshow to get people talking about it and then next time up to bat will knock it out of the park.

I'm hoping it is one of those two because if he turns up for London and does as badly at the presser I'm genuinely worried for his mindset and performance for the fight

I'd say it's neither of the two, it was just a terrible show, with poor taste and unfunny quips. Conor's whole "come up and stop me" act isn't the road he should go down, he should stick to speaking about Floyd, how he's going to dismantle him, etc etc. That's what builds hype...not a bloody mink coat that nobody gives a **** about.

The 1st two of these Conor had me in stitches and comments like "look at the tiny head on him" etc.

I have no idea WTF that was last night but he wasn't good, funny or clever. He wasn't being edgy or trolling with some master plan to make London amazing. He honestly seems to have lost the run of himself and what he was saying.

The line Conor used "Dance for me boy" has heavy racial undertones. In the history of slavery, black people would be forced to do things to entertain their masters, Like dancing or fighting. Agree completely, context is obviously key. That's how most language works.

Continuing your example, somebody from east Belfast saying it has negative connotations sure. But the equivalent to that for the "Boy" thing is someone Deep South red neck saying it, not a somebody from Ireland.

Yep. The 3 press conferences are up to 14,200,000 views between the UFC and Showtime channels and obviously rising. Dana White's VLOG is up to 3,700,000 views total so far. MMA Fighting's content for the last 3 days is up to over 5,400,000 through youtube and God knows how much more traffic through their site.

Regardless of how we score or review the last few days, they are absolutely crushing it numbers wise on youtube. #Maymacworldtour has hit the #1 spot on twitter every night for trends. In terms of google, they are doing almost 35% more in terms of searches compared to the May-Pac pressers in 2015.

It's all looking peachy on the promotional front.

On the sponsorship front, Conor needs to steer away from anything to do with racism and misogyny if he actually wants to attract powerhouse sponsors.
