I'd be annoyed if that were the case, almost everyone I know who still plays it are on different teams to me.

MCM comic con on in rds in dublin on July 1 and 2. The actress that voices Ash in the cartoon series will be there obvious choice for an event. Possible Articuno,Moltres,Zapdos.

But do Niantic entertain reports where you have no proof other than the person is in lots of gyms with high level Pokémon? I've never bothered reporting him and others that I'm pretty sure about for that reason. I suppose there's no harm in reporting them though really? Worst case nothing changes....

Don't want to say exactly why, as I don't want to attract their personal ire, but no one can be in over 30 gyms in disparate parts of Dublin, and also active in Drogheda and Waterford and also can reclaim gyms within a few hours of losing them...

So yes, I am certain about this.

Anyway, can you all imagine how long it would take to reclaim gyms like that, even with spoofed gym data? I'm not aware of a botting script that would account for the pattern of play that V27 has, without some kind of additional manual intervention. It's also going to be more apparent who is spoofing in the immediate time after the gyms are reopened so to speak.

One last bit: I suspect there are changes to the actual number of places available in gyms or the ranking of players in gyms coming up, for this upcoming change to happen. when players have 150 Pokémon in gyms, there's about 140 that won't claim coins that other players could have. There's no financial interest in Niantic dealing with spoofers in gyms, except for the level of outrage.

Yeah but if ppl get discouraged they loose playerbase. = Double edged sword.

Problem with spoofers is -apparently- they are hard to detect.
Botters can be tackled with machine learning.

Dunno if it's any use to you, but there's a Cyndaquil nest in the park in Fairview. Caught nine in about 25 minutes or so! Would be worth a farming if you can get to it

That's exactly why I've always been hesitant to report someone. I don't have regionals to drop in gyms, but I'm in a few gyms and have been out playing at random times of day/night and in all weathers, so I agree, I'd hate to think someone was reporting me because of that.

In the case of v27, I think the reason people are so confident he's spoofing, is that he's in multiple gyms across Dublin, Waterford and Cork (and who knows where else), and with high cp pokemon in all of them. I mean, there are so many mons you'd have in the 2500+ range before you have to start using low level ones

And in rural South Dublin they is a gym on private land and according to gym hunter he's in there.
Also there are rural gyms not on gym maps and he's in none of them. If you were an honest player you would have found them.

100% a cheater.

Exactly. The players who've gone to such lengths to spoof and get into gyms have the most to lose next week, which is why I'm delighted -though I don't know what Niantic will do that will improve the game long term.

But I'm in 15 gyms that I've worked damn hard for.
But I'm gonna be out on my ar5e same as the spoofers and botters.

if anything the proposed berry requirement would mean nothing to spoofers but hamstring legit players.

Hope this is not the case, couldn't see myself going to this effort. Certainly would make it even easier for spoofers.

A very good night tonight - was at Dun Laoghaire pier and almost didn't walk around die to the rain. Went out in the end and caught a porygon and candied mareep...was enough to fully evolve the sheep. Also hatched a 96iv larvitar so it's back to walking the larvi now.

Yes this is my position too.

Hopefully they will not empty the gyms.

It's been officially announced they are clearing all gyms as part of the rework.

the Italian and Chinese translations gave a date of the 16th.

the only question is whether we get them back in full health or fainted.

And also German. The Niantic staff have also confirmed it on Reddit. This isn't idle speculation. I do suspect we'll get everything restored at least.

Also, when there's players in like 150 gyms or more, there's no way even a ready-to-go bot script could cover the ground required for feeding raspberries. That mechanic won't do much about the spoofers that are sticking to parts of North Dublin for instance. I suspect there will be a max limit placed on number of taken gyms also which will affect (mystic) spoofers the most.

Interesting reading.
But it's again all speculation. I'm really annoyed that they just unilaterally boot players from gyms that we spent time prestiging.
Some of my gyms are in location that anything other than lvl8/9/10 gyms get taken in minutes, so when I take a gym or add to a gym I generally prestige it up a few thousand XP and leave a couple of blank spots.

And then there's the other side, I have two gyms in remote areas with sketchy phone coverage which I found on a hunch when on holiday in the other side of the country. I have been in the gyms since about October/November last year. They are not on any maps.

The cynic in me suspects this is a money grabbing exercise as I have not spent money (intentionally) since gen2 was released and I make enough coins 8-10 per day to avoid having to spend money.

Just picked up a 2000cp Lapras outside the brewery in Waterford, if anyone is in the area.

They will clear the gyms, it was confirmed in sone Niantic official material.

The ONLY saving grace of it is - i hope hope hope this will somehow prevent gym spoofing.

Additionally I hope hope hope for a new battle system and not just tap-swipe-hold.

As I asaid previously -= sure it sucks =- I am playing this religiously from nearly day 1, prestiged and fought gyms in rain sun hail and sun. Nearly effin died on a bike one day

. Now my comfy security blanked of 10+ gyms is going away...

Generally even if they make gyms not accepting more than 1 mon of same type the gyms will be weaker and from the looks of things this is coming along this feed-the-berry-thing. (apk digs analysis).

I don't mind the feed the berry thing, it would give me a use for those damn nanabs lol
Also would not be opposed to some rework of the battle system and even a limit on specific pokemon types per gym. As it is, mostly I leave blisseys, vaporeons, dragonite, gyrados and snorlax as everything else is too low and gets booted/shaved.

OK make the Berry a thing when all spoofers are gone, not before.

Taking the rest of the sentence that you quoted, it seems to specify co op play and new methods of playing.

I'd say there's a lot going to change.

Raid pokemon does X
Your pokemon X returns from gym.
Raid starting near you etc.

I wish I could somehow work with players around me, know who is on my team and communicate.

No idea if that would make the game weird for some ppl who prefer being anonymous?
