Conor will fight out the remainder of his UFC contract as fast as he can

I don't for one second mean he was scared because it's crazy to call any UFC fighter scared - they get into a cage for a living. But it's beyond obvious that all these fighters respect the hell out of Conor's ability and his left hand. Think about his last 4 opponents - Chad Mendes is a pressure fighting wrestler with a good overhand. Aldo is a pressure fighter with awesome muay thai and kicks. Diaz is a pressure fighter with great boxing and jits. Alvarez a pressure fighter with wrestling and boxing. Yet in all of those fights, for the opening 2 rounds they were all intimidated from the opening bell from pressuring forward because they all knew Conor's counters are the real deal. Worse again, when they did pressure forward they were anxious in their strikes because of the fear of being dropped with a counter. That's such a potent weapon to be able to deter a pressure fighter from coming at you right from the opening bell simply because they're worried from the get-go about being caught. There's many factors that go in to making Conor a next-level talent and amazing fighter but in my opinion he has the best vision in all of MMA, certainly the very best in the UFC. People talk about his timing and movement but what makes all of that so special is his vision. He's always got his eyes on the target. This video edit against Nate illustrates it well. Watch Conor's eyes on every single strike thrown, even the leg kicks. Never fails to give a few goosebumps this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afTkUgdNTEI

The little steps forward under the masked right jabs are class, I didn't pick them up at all but you can see how deliberate the movement is and how effective it is. So many people bang on about how Eddie was making mistakes and lost the fight himself, but when you see videos like that you understand from once the bell rang Conor was stealing from Eddie; stealing ring space, stealing movements, stealing his slip options, stealing the space between them without Eddie even really realising what was going on. Very impressive.
wonderfullife wrote: » This is a brilliant and complete breakdown of the Alvarez fight and one of the best I've ever seen. Conor was playing 4D chess against Eddie's checkers. This video is superb, informative and will give people a new appreciation of how masterful a performance it really was. I must have watched the fight 30+ times and this breakdown points out things I completely missed (such as the right hook Conor threw in between the double left that dropped Eddie the first time).

Ok, i'll bite Conor was training for Aldo, not mendes, so you could say he had to totally change his game plan Mendes just wasn't beat, he was destroyed, short camp or not he was still supposed to be one of the highest level wrestlers in the division, didn't do him much good All this talk of mendes only having a short camp, is, IMO, bollocks, mendes and his team knew full well there was a high chance of Aldo pulling out and would have been preparing in the background, whie saying they had a short camp they couldn't lose
