I don't remember the DS really picking up steam until nearly 2 years into its cycle, around the time the DS Lite came out. Same goes for the PS3, which very few people bought at 600 compared to its overall sales.
sligeach wrote: » It's not a clickbait article. Its purpose was to deal with the quantity of games at launch, not their quality. I think it did an excellent job at that. I don't think you even read it properly. It did say that "In the Switch’s favour, the DS only launched with six games, two of which were exclusive, and it sold 154 million units."
MilesMorales1 wrote: » So what? Thats the most riddiculous thing I read. You could have the biggest launch line up in history and have every single game be crap. 'Smallest in history' literally means nothing, now thats a clickbait article. PS4/XB1/360/PS3/DS/PS2 all had much larger launch line ups, yet somehow had maybe 2 games worth playing between them.

Which launched with 2 games, one of which was Mario 64, which went on to be one of the (if not outright THE) most influential 3D platformers of all time. Smallest handheld launch since the DS. OK, not so many all time classics in there, but Project Rub is definitely better than the cover or name would make you think And the console itself was the best selling handheld of all time. And the largest launch was the Wii U which was a commercial flop and filled out with lacklustre aging 3rd party titles. So this is a good news story?

I'd like some clarification before launch but this being Nintendo they probably explain that or the new online system.

You've got seperate joycons, you've got one person using two, you've got them stuck to the sides of the device and you've got them locked onto the grip thing, on top of the Pro controller, which I think should probably have been sort of left out of the trailer because it isn't mandatory. It's also that it's a tablet but it's also quite different to what most people imagine when they think of a tablet. If it seems like it's trying to compete directly with Android and Apple tablets, then it's going to end up seeming like it lacks a lot of important features. It's not about people being "dunces". Anyone could figure it out if they want to. The issue is whether they would bother based on seeing it the first time or whether looking at it instantly just puts them off. The Wii U definitely did suffer from being confusing to most people. I've had to explain the Wii U to just about anyone I've played it with before who wasn't already a core gamer, because it's got a weird controller and seems like it's just an add-on for the Wii. Nobody ever questioned my PS3 or PS4 though, because it's very clear what it is and how it works.
One of the things that most called our attention was knowing that the console in handheld mode, along with the Joy-Con will have mutual feedback. What does this mean? Well, when we play with the Nintendo switch in handheld mode with the Joy-Con, these can charge the console and viceversa. This will happen when some of those parts have low battery, this way we will be able to play some extra time. For example, if the battery of the console is at 10% and the joycons are at 100%, these will charge the console.

Atari Jaguar wrote: » What's confusing exactly? It's a home console and a handheld. You can play it on your TV Or bring it with you The premise is rather basic? I see that a lot with people who play video games a lot (I don't like the term gamer) where they seem to think anyone outside their circle is a dunce who can't do a bit of googling should they need more information on something. For anyone confused these days it's fairly simple to find out what the switch is, either ask in GameStop and the staff will explain or just google "what is a Nintendo switch"
