I own quite a few. Though most weren't bought specifically for them. I only had 1 moment of direct weakness where I bought 3 of them from Amiami in a deal that didn't work out as well as I thought it would. Then there are others like Luigi, who came free with another disappointment, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, Yoshi was aquired from the bundle(Yoshi's Woolly World, amazing game. Don't own it? What's wrong with you? Buy it, now!), 2 Wolf Link's from Twilight Princess HD bundles. I think there's more I own, but can't remember.

There should be a daily reminding of what they are. I've been extremely restrained in my opinion of them.

They're nice figurines that use NFC technology? They're totally optional, given most of what they unlock is crap anyways they're already better than cosmetic DLC, and NFC is pretty damn cheap to implement

Although here is fine, but I don't understand doing it in the Amiibo thread. Me and you both aren't fans of Pokemon but if I was a Pokemon fan I'd be pretty annoyed if you were going into a Pokemon thread saying how awful etc it is.

The Switch has been reduced in price on Amazon France, it's down to €314 and Zelda: BOTW too has been reduced to €65. Let's see if Amazon UK or other more local retailers follow suit. It could just be that Amazon France are struggling to get through their allotment.

It may mean no GameCube virtual console, as the GameCube had analogue triggers, and made great use of them in some of its best games, like Super Mario Sunshine, Rogue Squadron 2/3 (including the click at the end of the analogue travel)

Nintendo love flogging peripherals. Wouldn't be completely surprised to see something like this to make the Gamecube games fully playable on Switch. Not to mention making new games like an F-Zero possible.

It would make absolutely zero sense if they don’t add in Gamecube Virtual Console, so knowing Nintendo, they probably won’t. The hardware is capable – I have a Nvidia Shield TV – which runs on a less powerful version of the Tegra chipset and it emulates Gamecube games in a playable state.

With minimum effort they could drastically expand their game library and help to keep interest in older franchises alive.

Looks like the Pro Controller has around a 40 hour battery life. While the price is an issue, that's very good for a controller that has HD rumble, gyroscope, accelerometer, and nfc reader/writer.

Is the Switch screen bigger than the Wii U gamepad screen? I've seen pictures of them side by side but can't tell what's bigger.

Not the whole gamepad compared to the switch with joy cons attached. Just the actual screen that will display games.

Same size screen, 6.2 inches, but much higher resolution (720p vs 480p) and a better screen at that (ips lcd). Plus it's capacitive touch rather that resistive touch, meaning it supports multi touch, like a phone screen, rather than needing a stylus of similar.
