What a difference a channel makes!

ITV shows take up much of the top 20 on TV3. With UEFA champions league getting 158,000 at 14. and TV3 shows Gogglebox Ireland getting a static 111,000 viewers and Xpose on Monday night getting 101,000 viewers. No other home produced shows make the top twenty.

Meanwhile over on be3 unsurprisingly The Chase took up the top 4 shows with 70,000 viewers slightly up from previous weeks. The Queen At 90 (renamed from Our Queen at 90) had 64,000 viewers. Similar to old TV3 listing a new Judge is into town and his name is Rinder getting 43,000 viewers. Repeats of Emmerdale and Coronation street getting 42,000 and 39,000. The Zoo had 43,000 viewers. Simulcast of In Plain Sight had just 47,000 viewers.

Goes to show what a difference not just soaps, but the lead-in makes, as the slide in the Knock rating shows! Reminds me of when TG4 used to publish their figures - aside from sport, eerily similar.

At that time TG4 had a 3% share but as you say they also had sport.

Interesting to see an appearance of some of UTV's daytime shows. Judge Rinder and Dickinson's Real Deal doing ok. But goes to show how terrible their primetime and weekend shows have been, when a programme broadcast at 3:30 in the daytime beats so many other shows.

Yeah pretty much as TV3 had been during the last 2 years but TV3 was supported by sport, home produced programming and ITV weekend.

It's unlikely that be3 will be given the same support.

The issue for TV3 is that the soaps don't seem to be increase viewers for other programmes.

The bottom of TV3's top twenty now is pretty much the same as the top of when they didn't have the soaps with the exception of Xpose

Equally, it seems odd that The Chase gradually loses viewers as the week progresses, one would have thought the figure would be virtually identical for the whoke week.

So far they are holding up, The Chase did get into UTV's top twenty and UTV's number 20 did drop to 52,000 their number 8 on this list.

Shocked that This Morning and Loose Women have made it into their Top 20. Don't know whether that rating is good or bad for that time of the day compared to RTE and TV3 though.

RTÉ have 15% for TODAY at 100,000
TV3 have 25% for Ireland AM at 50,000

I can't see Midday getting more than Ireland AM, and with the move of This Morning to TV3 I supect it has a bigger audience than Midday. Certainly when This Morning has never aired on TV3.

Yep This Morning must be getting higher ratings than the quiz shows, Judge Judy and Midday if they are going to replace it.

Hopefully it'll be an end to repeats during the weekday afternoons on TV3. No reason now to be repeating The Six O'Clock Show and Xpose when it'll no doubt be shown several times on 3e and Be3.

Ninja Warrior Series3 starting on 3e on NYE at 7pm (same time as ITV). Also have the Roast Of Donald Trump later in the evening. These are the type of shows it needs - and not repeats of Ireland:AM. Having 5 episodes of Tipping Point on Christmas Day makes no sense to me though.

Great Christmas viewing surely they have some bad xmas movie to put on.

Got this while trying to find out when RTE last renewed their home and away contract (I assume in 2013 with it finishing in 2019).

Interesting to see ITV2, 3 and Channel 5 so high in that list each over 0.5%.

The figure for news now is interesting given it wasn't on sky platform at the time . Imagine if it had a proper schedule it could easily hit 2% share

They are the one company. The journalist should have asked for UTV Ireland and 3e Top Programmes. I mean RTÉ.ie reported that TV3 had a 37% increase in audience at Christmas time how big a drop did UTV Ireland have and last year no report pointed out the big drop in TV3 Audience.

Note the number of reports on TV3 losses v UTV Ireland's, pure pro-TV3 bias.

be3's top 20's top shows continue to be The Chase so with 65,000 that will see a massive drop when it goes over to TV3. It will be interesting to see what the audience share were. TV3's 20 - 16 haven't grown since the move of Coro St bar Xpose which moves full time to 3e.

RTE2 was up for the christmas period Fr. Ted topping their top 20.

Going by Medialive, Celeb Chase had 1.9% share, sliding gradually to exactly 1% for Kevin Dundon in 20th. By contrast, RTE Two goes from 5% to 2%, and TV3 from 11% to 3% (starts from 5% when soaps are excluded).
