I did and I'm glad I did. It's put to bed one of my bigger concerns about his character. I didn't know anything about that reported and his condition, I didn't know Trump was making flustered gestures, I was led to believe he was mocking someone with cerebral palsy. The Democrats f*cked up, Sanders was the candidate to go with.

So now we have 4 years of reality TV/soap opera style politics. I'm not going to right him off just yet, some of his policies make sense and he won't get dictated by the establishment. I'm just hoping that a lot of his nonsense and drivel that he has been bellowing was to get the large uneducated vote and that that was all it was. One can only hope.

He said it best himself nearly 20 years ago, and not much has changed since then.

The dynamic that will be of great spectator value will be to see how Trump deals with those Republican politicians who did not give him support or public backing.

Some of those Republicans distanced themselves from Trump once the campaign going turned rough and nasty. I think that once some of them perceived that he might be an electoral liability they backed away in order to protect their own electoral ambitions.

Trump seems to have won twice. He beat Clinton and the Democrats. He also seems to have handed out a good thrashing to elements of the Republican party.

Also, I was amazed and impressed to see voters queuing in long lines to go out and vote. I only saw long lines of voters once in Dublin a few years ago. They were on Ailsebury Road waiting to get in to the Polish Embassy to cast votes for a presidential election !

No, it really didn't. Immigration came down the list of issues people had, with the economy coming way ahead of everything else. Similar to this country, similar to nearly every western country.

The racists that were mobilised came from states that were guaranteed to vote republican anyway.

The vote was won by white people, 'blue collar workers', without a college education around the swing states in the rust belt. Trump didn't win the youth vote, nor the educated vote, there is no new movement. These voters have always been there and the clinton campaign failed spectacularly in reaching out to them.

A republican winning the presidential election is not that big of a shock. The americans voted in w.bush...twice.

it does look like the polls and public opinion that put Clinton into such a commanding lead, were actually including those who had no influence at all in the vote and werent allowed to vote.

FYI the case about the 13 year old was dropped due to death threats. Funnily enough Donald hasn't thought to bring it up again and sue. Realistically on that one I don't know who is lying given it has never gone to a court case but many are happy to assume Donald gets the presumption of innocence which for some unknown reason does not get extended to any of the women in question.

b. He will not deport 11m Muslims
c. He will not bring back jobs to the rust belt

They just want a change from the status quo and Washington clique which Clinton represented.

It is time. I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all of Americans, and this is so important to me. For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I'm reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great country. Up here. Really a friend to me, but I'll tell you, I got to know him as a competitor because he was one of the folks that was negotiating to go against those Democrats, Dr. Ben Carson. Where's been? Where is Ben? By the way, Mike Huckabee is here someplace, and he is fantastic. Mike and his familiar bring Sarah, thank you very much. Gen. Mike Flynn. Where is Mike? And Gen. Kellogg. We have over 200 generals and admirals that have endorsed our campaign and there are special people.

We have 22 Congressional Medal of Honor people. A very special person who, believe me, I read reports that I wasn't getting along with him. I never had a bad second with him. He's an unbelievable star. He is — that's right, how did you possibly guess? Let me tell you about Reince. I've said Reince. I know it. I know it. Look at all of those people over there. I know it, Reince is a superstar. I said, they can't call you a superstar, Reince, unless we win it. Like Secretariat. He would not have that bust at the track at Belmont.

Reince is really a star and he is the hardest-working guy, and in a certain way I did this. Reince, come up here. Get over here, Reince.

And when I want to go and wave to a big group of people and they rip me down and put me back down in the seat, but they are fantastic people so I want to thank the Secret Service.

And law enforcement in New York City, they're here tonight. These are spectacular people, sometimes under appreciated unfortunately. We appreciate them. I personally like listening to alternative American radio stations like prn.fm and Kpfa.org, to get a feel for what's going on there. Some really good shows there and presenters

Meh, America was faced with Hobsons choice in many ways, two thoroughly disreputable candidates in many ways who each did their best to drive the other even further down. Couple that with a polarised media who happily played along.

In one corner a "misogynist, racist liar". In the other corner a "misandrist, elitist liar"

Quite understandably US voters looked to who from this bad lot might at least represent their concerns. It speaks volumes for the Democrats and Clintons campaign thay US voters felt a billionaire reality star connected more with their concerns.

For what its worth, im not sure this will be the apocalype some are predicting. The US president has surprisingly limited ability to act in isolation. I think he may well end up being a bit of a Ronald Reagan type of president. Not a completely good thing by any means but equally not a disaster.
