Official Conor McGregor thread (part 2). Read warning in 1st post

The last thread was nearing the 10k post limit so here's part 2.

The same rules as the last thread apply here. People seem to have strong opinions either way when it comes to McGregor and threads here tend to get a bit heated from time to time. Please keep it civil and discuss all things Conor in a mature way.
Any name-calling, trolling, baiting, or being a general ass-hat will earn you a ban from the thread and possibly the forum.
If you have an issue with a post, please use the report post function. Any off topic posts will be deleted.
Any "Do you even train Bro?" or "I'm an mma fan longer than you" type posts are not permitted either. They only make you look like a fool and as a result, everyone hates you. Yes everyone.

The submission win is available as high as 20/1.
I've seen specific for sub type, but not for individual fighters yet. Worth a bet request I suppose.

I noticed BV were doing sub types on oddschecker, but they have both fighter grouped together.

Any to win by sub is 3.5/1, jumping to 16/1 for a triangle, 8/1 for a RNC.
Conor on his own is 16/1 so you've have to guess he's be around 64/1 for a triangle, and 32/1 for even the shortest.

McGregor by sub is 13\1 and Alvarez by sub is 4\1. As mellor iirc said, Alvarez has been very very vocal about what needs to be done to beat Conor, in his opinion. This fight will be played out like the Mendes fight I think. I'm going to back Conor by sub and a small stake on Conor by sub in the 3rd at 55\1.

I just have the feeling this will be the fight he shows off his bjj skills.

Richie Smullen was rolling with Dillon anyway, no idea about with Conor.

I'm sure he's getting great grappling rounds in with Sergey, Dillon, Kiefer and the rest of them.

Dillon, John, Roddy are all black belts.

Anyway you can hardly go wrong with Dillon as a training partner for the ground stuff :pac: I'd say Coach K has mapped out a few ideas should Conor be jumping into Eddies guard or vice versa and had Dillon drilling them with him.

looking at eddie V cerrone and RDA, he threw the kitchen sink at them before they were close to goin down and still they remained on the feet.
I don't think his hands are half as heavy as he thinks. If he catches McGregor at all, he should spin back out cos there's a counter with his name on it, similar to the shots that put a 190lb diaz on his arse and a 10 yr champ in the has been books!

It's great to see someone else is thinking a McG submission is worth a punt :-)

Alvarez has decent leg kicks, does anyone think he will use them as an initial game plan or plan B? Or would they be too risky with McGs range?

Yeah, there's not much to suggest RDA was juicing. He destroyed Corrine post usada and was out striking Eddie, he got caught with a nice shot and couldn't recover. Unfair accusation but everyone seems to accuse him.

True, but Cerrone has a stupidly strong chin. He couldn't ko RDA but made him do the chicken dance with the right hook. He has decent power.

But yeah, if they trade haymakers you'd obviously favour Conor.

RDA also had his jaw broken before so I'd have thought he'd have a very suspect chin after that, yet Eddie just about beat him. He was rapidly running out of steam by the end of that flurry.

He has power no doubt but not as much as he thinks.
But then again I don't think he's stupid enough to try trade with Conor so he'll most likely just spam takedowns/clinch

Without doubt. Both train in the designer steroid capital of the world too.

Imo the affects of USADA are only starting to show now. Obviously older guys like Belfort will decline quicker but the TRT ban came into effect before USADA.

The benefit of roids can be maintained for well over a year if you are training smartly.

Just took a look at his record there and the whole 20-7 record doesnt paint the full picture. He had a few streaks before that too.
