Its an issue with the mapping algorithim they used to select points of interest.
On the other hand it gets people to visit these menorials. As long as the people arent entered private grounds or sacred areas ( such as churches or graveyards) then it shouldnt be seen as distespectful.

As regards the Nearby Beta. I used it 2 weeks ago. Very handy to chase down certain pokemon in an urban setting, where you have a lot of choice.
Cant see it being useful in a suburban/rural area. (ie. I have 2 pokestops 5 min walk away, in opposite directions, from my home)

Um, churches are nearly always pokestops/gyms...

What kind of CP should I hold out for to evolve squirtle? Maybe wait until I have 125 candies and pick the highest one then?

Do Pikachus and charmanders have a particular environment they spawn in? Never seen either yet.

I realise that. My point was that as long as players are not entering these areas.
You can still tap stops and gyms by being nearby rather than inside.

I'd wait for a High CP & IV Squirtle, e.g. CP 600+ & IV 80%+, as it would mean you'd end up with an awesome Blastoise, without wasting too much stardust. This is, obviously, assuming you also end up with a Blastoise with the best moveset

Congrats on the 100% Jolteon!

It should work really well against water types but I don't believe it'll be as strong as others based on its overall Attack rating...

I must be crap.....lost 4 times in a row to a Hypno trying to train up a a gym. Hypno was 1350, my Vaporeon was 1605.
Had beaten it enough over the previous 20 mins so only needed 2 more victories but those 4 losses just broke me...had to walk away or my phone may have gotten throw at the ground!

It's currently at 1300 and I've taken out a 1700 Vaporeon and 1900 Gyarados (not at the same time

)

There are better Pokemon but my only other 100% is an 11cp Voltorb.
So I'm pretty chuffed with it.

Lol a Hypno was also causing me grief yesterday. It was the weakest pokemon in a Level 7 gym and I was trying to beat it with a weaker pokemon so that the gym would increase by 500+ prestige each time. It was like 950CP and I had various pokemon at the 900CP - 940CP range. Unfortunately none of them were it's match. Tried a Cloyster, a Jynx, a Magneton, a Persian and a Ratticate, but they all got pretty much destroyed. Came closest to beating it with the Ratticate since Bite is Super Effective against it but still came up short in the end.

It was draining my revives fast so in the end I had to give up and resort to Plan B. Which is to use one of my strongest pokemon and just beat as many pokemon in the gym as I could before it faints. This takes a lot longer and you get less prestige each time. It took me like 45 minutes to raise the gym to next level in the end (I needed 9,000 prestige iirc). Would have done it in half the time if it wasn't for that damn Hypno

hatched an ekans from a 5k and a chansey from a 10k, both new to me, up to 108 of 109 in the pokedex (fecking evolved weepinbell crashed my game)
its becoming a chore at this stage, might be starting to lose interest

iv only seen 2 ekans and caught 1.

As matter on interest what level is everyone at and how many pokemon have you got? halfway through 21 but only caught 749. Iv hit more pokestops than pokemon caught!!

caught 1804 pokemon
have 108 in the pokedex
And as I said, its becoming a chore at this stage, haven't seen anything new on my nearby for about two weeks bar the weepinbell evolve that crashed my game, everything new I'm getting at this stage is from eggs, and bar todays two, I haven't got something new from an egg(or decent for that matter) in ages!

I haven't seen any ekans in the wild here, nor do I remember seeing charmander in the wild! I am sick to death of drowzee's, ive given up catching them

Level 25, 93 in the pokedex.
Have played about 90% of the time in Limerick, 2 days in Dublin and a week in Amsterdam.

211km walked
2,439 caught
3,129 pokestops visited

I've played the game totally legitimately since the start, no cheating, didn't even bother to download it early, pre release here, game is beginning to drag, getting a lot of crap egg luck. I've never seen a Bulbasaur or Charmander in the wild, nor an Ekans, sandshrew, doduo, vulpix, growlithe, abra, ponyta or Grimer as far as regular mons go. Have only ever seen two Ryhorns I think, 1 onix and 2 Geodudes, 2 voltorb.

Jynx and drowsea everywhere. Of the 2,439 caught 644 are psychic types, with a good 90% of them must be drowsea. I still try and catch everything if I can, simply to keep farming that exp and stardust, but it's not so fun when you can't find anything new, even when you mix up where you search for mons. Hope we get a decent update soon to breath a bit of new life in to the whole thing.

702 caught, 906 stops hit. Level 20.8. 87 caught, 89 seen (Magmar and Kadabra on the list of shame). Two or three more kind of close to evolving, nothing else left to catch around my area.
Paris in two weeks, hope to snag a few more.
