Just got this email from the DMYC....may be of interest to some here too.

At 1000 hrs this morning (Tuesday) stealth boat Thunder Child, with Ian Brownlee as engineer (a member of the DMYC), left the starting point at the Old Head of Kinsale for an anti clockwise circumnavigation of Ireland and Rockall which is 163 nautical miles west of Ireland.

The Trip can be followed on A.I.S.entering Thunder Child as the boat, which is currently traveling at 40 Knots.

It is hoped to set a record of 35 hours for the trip. Two fueling points are required one in Northern Ireland and the other on the west coast of Ireland on its return journey to the Old Head of Kinsale.

There is a crew of five aboard and an update of their progress will be issued tomorrow (Wednesday)
    .
