This is same as the UK promotion I think, you can use amazon.de in English now (just click on the "In English - Beta" under the search box on the main page) but the promotion page still comes up in German.

You have to be logged in and if you are eligible you should see a button when you go to the link below. Then you just need to click on it and once you get the "You have successfully qualified for the promotion code. Proceed to purchasing gift cards." message, you are good to go.

Like I said the promotion page is in German so below info is from Google translate....

I suppose it only works on the German Amazon correct? If it did for the UK site then I'm very interested.

Will they deliver here or do you need Parcel Motel/Wizard?

some will some wont (especially bulkier items).

generally .de is better value (in my experience), but delivery to Ireland from some sellers can be a problem.

This is only valid for the things sold by Amazon directly and they will deliver to Ireland but not everything unfortunately (you get a warning on the checkout page).

Will you receive €10 for every €40 you buy? Eg €400 in vouchers you'd get €100

Bought a €40 voucher yesterday. Where/when can I expect to see the €10 credit?

    im the opposite.

I bought some specialist batteries there which arrived yesterday.
Found out I ordered the wrong ones, so asked for a refund and they dont even want the batteries back!

So have my money back, no postage cost incurred (or hassle of going to post office at christmas with all the queues), and a set of batteries which may be useful at some stage in the future.

After a full weekend of back and forth emails they fixed me up.
They actually made a mistake and gave me double off, which was nice.

Got it. The email I'd gotten was the code for the €10. It was in German, so I assumed it was the actual gift voucher. Had to re-send the gift voucher from the site though.

    What am I doing wrong?

I think the page has changed. When I opened it there was no steps or anything, it is just a title: "Wir schenken Ihnen 10 EUR beim Kauf von Amazon.de Geschenkgutscheinen im Wert von 40 EUR oder mehr" which is (by google translate): "we will give you 10 EUR when buying Amazon.de gift certificates worth 40 EUR or more" followed by a medium size block of German text. It says something about activating my account in some way or something.

I have no idea what to do. Do you think it will it work for me if I buy the €40 gift card?

It's talking about unlocking the offer, not unlocking your account by some means.

It's the jist of: this offer is open from date x to date y, to qualify you need to click the button above, which will unlock a 10 euro code after you have made a qualifying purchase of a 40 or more euro gift voucher.

It also says the usual about only being for people who got an email about it, but if you're eligible you're eligible regardless of email.

I see no button on that page. So am I eligible? Does it work for the email gift cards?

Yeah, and you can send them and use them [to] yourself.

No harm in emailing/phoning support and asking, tell them you don't see a button etc.

You need to be signed in to see the button, if you see the below image it means you are not signed in so you can either click "hier" when you go the link or sign in the usual way (click My Account/ Mein Konto on top right of the page).
