Meteor bill pay stats widget

Hi,

I'm looking for feedback with regards to 'meteor bill pay' on market place.

Hopefully this will solve the lack of a home screen widget from the official meteor app.

Basically im concerned with look and feel. As there are some many phones using android its hard to find consistency. And as a home developer i cant test them all.

Screen shots of accessibilty issues, or just plane bad looking would be good.

Is it intuitive etc. Speed and performance im not too concerned with as its not at that level yet.

Installed it, Forced Close nearly every time i tried using it, froze my phone a couple of times, uninstalled as crap

Android 2.2 HTC Desire Not Working

Installed on HTC DESIRE running Froyo 2.2 and LauncherPro
Looking great but loads of force close

Kind of working but I am going to give it a while to see how it pans out. I might have a few suggestions tomorrow if that's ok.

I will try it out HTC Legend running stock 2.2 also tomorrow

i believe i know what the issue is with regards to 2.2

I was considering pulling support for 2.2

however since Meteor haven't pushed an update for your phones yet (grrr)

i guess i will have to succumb to the majority

Android 2.2 HTC Desire Not Working

working well now on my HTC Desire running Froyo 2.2 but still FC when I try to go in to settings etc. Some suggestions I have are below

Can you make it update only on screen on? i.e. dont have a time set for updates as the widget will only update once the screen is turned on

Can you make a grey or glass coloured widget (orange is nice and striking - but glass or grey would suit a lot of styles on phones)

Can you make the app a little smaller - it needs to be in the phone memory rather than installed on the SD and it takes up a lot of space - widget is showing as 1.42MB where as other widgets I have are in and around 300kb (HTC Desire suffers from lack of internal space to install apps and every bit we can get is a bonus)

I will test on HTC Legend later today and post results but great work so far

I tried it on my San Francisco/zte blade running CM7

Works perfectly - My only complaints are the style of it.

There is no backround colour option that suits my phone! My phone has a charcoal grey kind of theme. It would be great if it could pick up the colour of theme like it seems like some of the other widgets are doing for me.

I don't really like the meteor swirly thing being behind it, would be nice if users had the option to remove.

I dont like the fading colour from left to right, I'd prefer if the colour was solid.

The options pop-up thing is technically cool, but i wonder could it be avoided. Have a settings button and a refresh button on the widget maybe (might not work). You could move your lovely mug shot to the settings page

It doesnt work on my friends 2.2 legend but I guess you already no about that.

Another quick question for the week that's in it (re Playstation Network) how is the pin stored?

ok i've updated it

i tried my hardest to break it and cause the issue that was popping up

bizarrely it was google analytics that was causing the issue

a good reason to remove it altogether

1) At the top of the list, remove my smug face

2) Add ( web texts left ) counter
3) provide ability to use system themes
4) update on wake up from sleep

If i dump the styles and go with system styles, it will probably come down ALOT

but two weeks, get a feel for it, post your likes dislikes,

Only problem i can see is the bottom right corner, where it says "meteor" is interfering with the data limit value.
If you've to put the logo somewhere, then maybe top right corner above the word "Remaining".

Also, just discovered landscape just doesnt work at all. Just says "Bill pay" and "Remaining" with no values below it for Minutes, texts or data.

Was hoping for an app like this, thanks.

After I entered mobile number it froze, then force closed. The widget disappeared from the screen. I added it again and the number was already in the settings... so added pin code and it froze and closed again. Added the widget again and just clicked the refresh icon and it loaded up.

So long as I leave the settings alone it works.

Put I do find the update status very intrusive. Especially if you move from that screen. It'd be better as a less swish widget, with a small status bar within it if possible.

If I do anything in settings I get this error:

ya, i've noticed that on the desire, look at the images above, thats how it looks on the HD

I think i'm going to dump the custom styles ( or atl east give option to use basis theme ), just impossible to get a consistent look

Hi, so i opened a virtual 2.2 platform and indeed i got your error

Not sure if anyone cares but watch out for shared preferences changes that cause it to go into a recursively loop

Note this is on 2.2 only
