Lets pretend for a moment that the prophets of doom are spot on with this garbage and the earth as we know it is a doom burdened sphere of misery.:D
Lets also pretent that we all have bunkers to dwell in that will save our hides from whatever catastrophic disaster is in the post. So, what would you bring to your bunker that you think will be vital to the rebirth of the human race?

    heres my list to start.

    200 pack of johnnie blue.
"The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins (the book of Eli)
    My tool box.
    The ingredients for Heineken.
    An internal combustion engine.
    Anti-biotics, paracetymol and the likes.
    A frying pan.
    Duct tape.
    WD40.
    American crew hair gel.
And last of all, a couple of pairs of clean socks.

"The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins (the book of Eli) (No. Just no. As a former Atheist [now agnostic] I can wholeheartedly say that Dawkins is one of the most pretentious smug ar$eholes to ever put his theories in print.)
    My tool box. (ooooooooooooooooookay).
The ingredients for Heineken. ("I tried to make sprite the other day using a lemon and lime.........there's more to it than that" - Mitch Hedberg.).
An internal combustion engine. (Oh so you have one handy then?)
Anti-biotics, paracetymol and the likes. (If you're not in jail from robbing a chemists)
A frying pan. (To hit any leftover zombies L4D 2 style. Badoing!).
    Duct tape. (Kinky).
    WD40. (Kinkier!)
American crew hair gel. (Wow. Specific.)
And last of all, a couple of pairs of clean socks. (Yeah, good to have a few spare catchers mitts).

In my (realistic) bunker would be food. Loads of food and soap. Gotta have soap. Also a few changes of clothes. And Bear Grylls. :pac:

That was sarcasm. Although having one of those "survivalists" with you would be handy!

"Can I eat this?" <holds up glowing bug>
    "...................no."
"What about this?" <holds up severed limb>
    "..........where did you get that?"
"Over there." <points to plane crash>.
    "Get a fire started."
    "Woohoo!"

That cool little tablet Bertie Aherne was kind enough to deliver to my home a few years back. Always wanted to use it. I'd assume it's optimal location for use is a bunker!

Amanda Brunker. I'd do her in the bunker.

Surely that's a (slight) triple entendre right there:
    (1) Her name's Brunker
    (2) You'll be in a bunker
    (3) You'll, quite possibly, be doing her up the bunker.

Not to mention she'd be a terrible drain on the food supply.

You have to come out sometime.
If not for what lack of cloud cover there might be, your eyes would need time to adjust from low florescent/other light to other possible brighter situations outside.

They would also act as further protection against dirt, etc in high winds and/or nuclear shockwaves as they hit you and your diving for cover.
Also depending on your environment and change of it in order to survive, you might want to avoid snow blindness.
