Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Assignment 56: Looking Down (Mar 24-Apr 6)

Taking photos from overhead is not always the most flattering angle, but it can give good results. At its best, it can have a real Wow factor, it can give us 'the big picture', or it can challenge our perceptions by presenting everyday sights in an abstract, visually appealing way.

So, Go forth, enjoy, and do good!

EDIT/CLARIFICATION: You don't necessarily have to be looking straight down on the subject, as the railway station pic shows below!

    The rules:
-Photos must be posted within 2 weeks of the day the task was set– so the closing time/date is midnight on April 6 2011.
-No old photos. Only photos taken with this task in mind qualify.
-Therefore, the photo must be taken after midnight on the 23rd March 2011.
-Photos must be on the given task.
-ONE photo per post. But submit as many posts as you like.
-Stretch yourself – there is no limitation to what you can do to produce the image.
-The next task/subject is to be chosen by the person who has the most thanks after their post at the closing date/time (the post must include a photo).

Not the best examples, but you should get what I mean.

This is a remake of an older shot of mine; but it was the first thing that came into my head when I saw the title of the theme! Shot on the footbridge that crosses the Sarsfield Roundabout, Cork.

Wouldn't you see the ground behind the clouds instead of the blue sky?

Was at the King Tut exhibition yesterday and it was really really worth seeing. However.. the statues. are. FREAKY!! It was one of those things when you are looking at them and you get that feeling that they could come alive.. evil looking a lot of them! Anyhow, this guy has the potential to give me nightmares they way he looks down at you in this shot.
