    How has Naas been doing guys since Superquinn finished up? Was there a few weeks ago....thought it a bit too quiet for that time of year....hopefully Pennys will help it a bit...saying that, it was easier to get through Naas by car

    Since Superquinn closed and the new Tesco centre opened outside the town, the town centre is failing fast in terms of retail. Its busy with traffic, but not as busy as it used to be. (most of it is moving through on the way to somewhere else) Naas Town Council have done a sterling job in ensuring that their planning activities over the years, made a massive town shopping centre unworkable and dotted major retail outlets outside the town.

    Junior Cert students would have planned retail opportunities for Naas in a far more concerted fashion than the morons on NTC. The entire retail experience that Naas has to offer is totally dispersed and car dependent. There are large retail developments on the periphery of the town, while a large half finished project lies dormant in the town centre. Economics has played a part, but the actions and bull**** from Naas Town Council has played the biggest part. The have consistently failed the town and will continue to do so.
