For Sale: One Internet Bar, good turnover, popular with the locals, also serves food and has resident DJ.

Yore Ma's is your typical Irish bar, ideally located in the Rec category, on the popular website, Boards.ie. The bar is spacious enough, with plenty of seating areas, including a unique snug, popular with some of the older clientèle. Another unique feature is the outdoor roof garden, though not yet finished, will be ideal for those long Summer nights we are so used to in this country.

The clientèle range from your internet-aware 20-somethings, to your refined, 30-something professionals, with the occasional older, scoundrel/lecherous type who don't like to talk about their age, but love getting jiggy with the young people.

It also comes complete with a fully fitted kitchen, with all modern conveniences and an experienced chef from Antwerp.

It is expected that the current staff will remain in situ, seeing as nobody else would hire them, but that is open to negotiations.

Why is the owner selling? Boards.ie has a popular charity, the Santa Strike Force, and all proceeds of this sale will go to that charity.

    The serious bit

This is an auction for The Santa Strike Force. The winner of the auction will donate the winning amount to SSF and in return, get modship of BGRH for a week (or longer/shorter if we like/dislike you :D).

How to take part in the auction - post your bids on this thread, serious bids only, please. If you would prefer to PM me your bid, I can post an acknowledgement in the thread for you.

At today's rates, yes, it approximates to €58. So latchyco has the leading bid at the moment.

so is the bid at 58 or not? can we stick to euros please?

if so, €60. I've never been happy with the direction BGRH went
after a good start, a blood letting would do it good. muhahaha

Probably Friday week, the 19th of December, I have to get onto to DeVore and find out when they plan the strike. It's usually the week/weekend before Christmas, AFAIR.

I will update the thread title when I find out for sure.

right then, auction fever has died off based on that info. Will wait until last couple of days, can we make last bid a reasonable time of the day so people won't all be in the pub?

Great idea, by the way. Maybe we could make in a boardswide thing??

Yeah, good point. I haven't thought this through fully. :) I'll wait until I hear back from DeVore and see what he says.

If the powers that be want to do it, not a bother. Again, I'll let DeV make the call on that one.

If everybody put a link in their signature, it would help spread the word too.
