Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In the next couple of weeks I will be building my new E6400 Core Duo 2GB RAM Vista system, rather than porting the components across from my old machine I am looking to start completely afresh with the old monitor and am looking to sell this machine.

    The specs are:
    - Intel Celeron 341 2.93Ghz CPU
    - MSI 7071 Motherboard with Built in Sound, Lan and Graphics
    - 768MB PC4100 RAM
    - 80GB HD
    - ATI Radeon 9650 AGP Graphics
    - Phillips Solidburn CD/DVDRW Drive
    - Logitech Keyboard & Mouse
    - 56K Modem
    - Floppy Drive
    - 6x USB Ports
    - Mini Tower Case

I will also be pre-installing the following OEM software on the machine (It will be formatted prior to sell)
    - Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2
    - Microsoft Works
    - HP Photosmart Premier
    - Norton Antivirus 2006

How much do you reckon I would get for that? Any better for throwing in another 160GB HD. The HD would be another IDE that I am planning to use in my new system, but if I get enough for the old system I might plump for a nice shiny new SATA drive.

I'm not really planning on selling it just yet... but I was thinking about moving over to playing games on the console, and keep my main pc for FPS, just wanted to see what money I would have to invest in a console and some games. I'll have to see how it goes. I'll probably wait 2 months and then sell it, which, by then, the pc will only be worth €300, lol

Oh and post a full spec of your pc, like case, cooling, overclock, any other peripherals included and i'll give you an estimate.

I sold a very similer PC (slightly higher spec) for 300 about a year and a half ago. So it definitely would only be worth less than a 100 by now

I would have thought at least 150-ish myself anyway but it depends I suppose. I would have definitely offered asking even back when it was 120, but I don't live up that way....

If my build goes as planned what would something like this be worth? Its a HTPC I plan to put under my tv:

    Antec desktop case w/380w PSU
    ABIT fatal1ty F-190HD
Gainward GeForce 8500GT 256mb with HDMI output
    Western Digital Caviar 500GB SATA2
    OCZ platinum 2GB (pc6400) RAM
Intel Core Duo E4400 2ghz overclocked to 2.8ghz
    D-Link wireless PCI card
    TV Tuner card
All-in-one media card reader at the front
    2-3 fans
Running Windows XP SP2 and Linux Ubuntu

Possibly may sell, without XP to use that on my other PC. It would be practically brand new if I decide to sell as I'll build it, overclock and sell.

with the new vostro out, id say about 650 max. with the warranty, its only 3 months left so that wouldnt really count for much longer. so id say about 650 for 3 months more. then 500 after.

not too bad really. but still low specs compared to whats available with the vostro now.
id say a maximum of 500.

single core processors are going with the dinosaurs lately.
not an amazing graphics card either.
17" monitor and printer will prob push the value to 300.
    maybe 350 if your lucky.

henners, no need to post it twice.
graphics that are built in are very poor now.
single core processor are the same. very poor.
would act as a nice spare parts pc ;) or as a low end computer for surfing the net or something. absolute dire to play new games.

the geforce 7800GT would get you about 70 maybe 80.

    id say about 500 max.
