Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't understand why people are disgusted by pus.it's just a natural mass buildup of white blood cells to help you fight off infection from bodily wounds and injuries. you should be grateful, without it you'd be ****ed.

Agree with the first point, but pus is disgusting. Every time I hear the word pus, I'm like bleugh! :D

Communism is good, in a way. It is the way society SHOULD live, all as equal, but it goes against human nature, which is to strive to be better then everyone else.

I agree, but only because it's more of a fact than an opinion!

I think a lot of it is parental influence too though, I loved maths, I loved science, but was always told, "God that's so hard." "I dunno if that's doable" and well, I don't know now because I was convinced it was unattainable. Same with learning Irish our parents groused so much about it, most of us had a mental block to it before we ever heard a single word.
This particular one infuriates me - especially girls are told from an early age that they can't do maths or science, leading to an imbalance in many companies. In countries like India, there's no such block and there are loads of women computer engineers while here there's often only one in an office here.

    Fargo
    The Big Lebowski
    O Brother, Where art thou
    No Country for old men
    Millers Crossing
    True Grit

I've watched all these films and have come to the conclusion that the Coen Brothers are overrated hacks. I've never seen one good film from them

If Kate and Gerry McCann weren't doctors they'd have had their other two children taken off them. It makes my blood boil to think that she had IVF etc to have Madeline and than left her on her own every night for a week. I am trying to have kids for ages so people like her that abandon their kids drive me effin mental. AAAGHHH

I do like the Big Lebowski I have to say, with Fargo coming in behind, but yea I do see the rest of them as overrated myself. One of the few flics I got so bored I walked out on was a Coen flic.

Breaking bad? Never could get into it myself. Harry Potter is so full of internal nonsense and very sloppily written, I can't believe some adults dig it so much. I think that it's like Star Wars, a fantastic concept with the actuality never quite matching up to said concept(though SW does it better). Star Trek? As a kid I loved the Capt Kirk and Spock one, but I was a kid and since then it's basically hippie Californians in space, though the most recent rejig is much better. The Next Generation is dire IMH. Lord of the Rings? Well written, if overlong. An attempt by the writer to make up a mythology for middle class suburban little englanders which worked pretty well, but beyond that.. And the films were about 5 hours too long. I prefer Johnny Miller's Elementary to Ben Cabbagepatch's Sherlock.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

o you have any opinions most people you know seem to disagree with?

Opinions are hard to disagree with most of the time. But it depends how you phrase them too.

For example if I were to write something like "all people would be happier if they threw their television in the bin" I would get some weird and crazy replies.

However if I tell you the truth in a fashion like "I have found joy in my life since I got rid of my television and simply started living in the moment" you get a whole different class of reply.

At which point one must ask - what importance is it to ask others to qualify my opinions?

Peace and safety as the Muslims say. Or peace and mindfulness as the rest say :p

    hack
    hak
    noun
    noun: hack; plural noun: hacks
    1.
a writer or journalist producing dull, unoriginal work.

Say what you want about the Coen brothers dude, they're in no way hacks.

I see they're banned now, but that's hardly an unpopular opinion, given how fetishised an ample manhood is, and how there are quite a few guys who would like a bigger one.

    Not ALL of them.

One of them has never existed. One couldn't be more different from the rest. A lot of them are not that alike at all and seem a bit randomly chosen!

Lol just lol. Some of them think very very differently to each other.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I don't think Kate Moss's mantra "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" is a bad thing at all really. It's a good thing to remember when you're in the process of losing weight (like I am at the moment) and find your hand reaching for that chocolate bar in the shop. I know it was adopted by pro-ana websites but if it wasn't that it would have been something else. I don't think she was saying "Don't eat full stop".
