Other than lice, which are easily sorted, there are plenty of benefits to a bush. If it wasn't of benefit we would have evolved without it after all. Exactly, a lot of the arguments against full bush are spurious.

It kinda reminds me of people using hygiene as a reason for circumcision. (Obvs a more serious issue than waxing)

Like I said, nothing against whatever people wanna do with their hair down there, just some of the reasons have no basis in reality.

Really like a bush is just a normal thing... I was with a woman who NEVER shaved there before. She shaved everywhere else. Smell never an issue for me. It did cover up the entrance and trail to the rear entrance but what harm! We are just like everyone else! On Hols she did ensure was not coming out side of bikini but never trimmed front. You could tell she had a bush but was fine.

The investigators observed patients who visited a private skin clinic between January 2011 and March 2012 in Nice, France for the purpose of their study.

Thirty people were infected with Molluscum contagiosum during that period, 6 were female - the average age of all the patients was 29.5.

In four cases, signs of the infection (pearly papules) had spread up to the abdomen, and in one case it spread to the thighs.

In 10 cases, other linked skin conditions were identified, including:
warts

ingrown hairs

cysts

scars

folliculitis - bacterial skin infection

Ninety-three percent of the 30 patients had had their pubic hair removed, either by shaving it off (70%), having it clipped (13%) or waxing it off (10%).

Since Molluscum contagiosum can spread quite easily by self infection, for example by scratching, the authors pointed out that hair removal may also encourage spread as a result of the micro-trauma it causes to the skin.

The scientists explained why pubic hair removal may be increasingly popular:
"The reasons for choosing genital hair removal remain unclear, but may be linked with internet based pornography ... increased sexual sensation ... an unconscious desire to simulate an infantile look ... or a desire to distance ourselves from our animal nature."

Absolutely, this notion that vaginas are "dirty" is fcuking ridiculous. At least we're not being constantly told (by advertising etc) that we need to use douches, like the Americans were for years. Though certain sanitary towel manufacturers do trade on this paranoia about ladyparts to try and get us to pay more for "actipearls" and similar bs. All these "vagina deodorants" and "freshness wipes" in the toiletries aisle make me want to stab people:mad:

Pubic hair provides protection for a very sensitive area of the body; apart from the possible complications of the removal method itself, a bare pudenda is more vulnerable to irritation from clothing etc.

I would never shave my bits, that goes double for letting someone near them with hot wax. I have literally just now trimmed them with a beard trimmer thingy. I use same on my arms in the summer, but to be fair nobody has ever said anything about my arms being "too hairy." This thing of removing arm hair seems to be a relatively new phenomenon. My niece got picked on in school for having hair on her arms when she was ten, I was astounded.

If I had the cash I'd probably think about getting the legs and underarms lasered, just because it would be nice if I didn't have to spend any more time on them:) But that's as far as i'd go, removing arm hair etc is just a step too far for me. Same bf I mentioned above was genuinely astounded when he found out i'd trimmed my arm hair. I only do it when the mood takes me tbh, if I let it go for a while it doesn't bother me. He literally could not understand what the "problem" was with arm hair.
Also, if you remove the hair from the sides of your face, it makes your face look fatter:pac:

Oh yes I would probably get my legs lasered also- the bliss of never having to shave them again :P - but I was told by a beautician that it is most effective on dark hair and mine is very fair so that's a no-go. I bet your arm hair is fine - I have a friend who is convinced hers is atrocious and mixes up some hair lightening cream in a little dish and puts it on her forearms to turn the hairs blonde - even though she has black hair and dark colouring. The hair on her arms really bothers her but I really cant see the problem with it!!

Not to me, personally, it's just that it seems like we women literally cannot look at our bodies without criticising ourselves; hair is just one part of that. If we have the notion in our heads that "a full bush is bad!" it's just one more thing to mentally beat ourselves up about. Even when we're aware of this pressure we put on ourselves, it's surprisingly difficult to break the habit:(

Personally I'd trim the bush for two reasons. One, partners seem to find oral sex easier with less hair (though not everyone cares tbh, I never started trimming mine until I was 30 and I never had any complaints before:D) and two, I just found that I liked the neat and tidy look when I tried trimming it for the first time.

Anything you can do to make seeing yourself naked more of a positive experience is good, IMHO, but only up to a point. If you're going through pain or spending tons of time/cash because you think that your body is just "not good enough" then I think you're going too far. There's grooming and then there's self-punishment.

One, partners seem to find oral sex easier with less hair (though not everyone cares tbh, I never started trimming mine until I was 30 and I never had any complaints before:D) and two, I just found that I liked the neat and tidy look when I tried trimming it for the first time.

Anything you can do to make seeing yourself naked more of a positive experience is good, IMHO, but only up to a point. If you're going through pain or spending tons of time/cash because you think that your body is just "not good enough" then I think you're going too far. There's grooming and then there's self-punishment.

Good points. I've personally never trimmed anywhere. I've a woman and she doesn't care. She says it manly but she never says shave. Only thing she sometimes says is my area below the genitals is is getting thick.
