Indie developer Carnivore Studio is working on a new horror and exploration game called Kodoku for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.

According to a PocketGamer preview, the game utilizes stealth and sorcery over weapons as means to survive.

Players will take on the role of a collector who must travel to the island of Kodoku, abandoned and haunted by paranormal entities from Japanese folklore, to find a rare book. As you explore the island, you must uncover the source of the paranormal phenomena, as well as a way off the island. During your investigation, you must gather documents and proof that the paranormal phenomena is genuine.

Players will be able to focus their senses to detect direction and proximity of threats while hiding in shadows, listening to noises, and distracting enemies. Spells, which will aid you in enemy evasion and puzzle solving, can be created via simple crafting.

PocketGamer reports that Kodoku will drop early 2015 courtesy of developer Carnivore, and stars a collector who has travelled to a haunted Japanese island to search for a mysterious book. Guarding the tome is a shed-load of angry spirits, that you must prove to the world are real by collecting evidence and documents as you go.

It comes from a letter posted online by Dark Zero, in which Zavvi insists that the recipient contact them with their postal details so that the PS Vita be collected and returned. Failure to do so by 5pm today, December 10 could result in legal action, the company has threatened.

The mix-up occurred when customers ordered a copy of PS Vita title Tearaway at £19.99, only to receive a £169.99 bundle including the game and Sony’s handheld instead.

Zavvi’s letter reads, “We are very sorry to inform you that due to an error in our warehouse we have dispatched the incorrect product. We are contacting you in order for us to arrange a collection of the incorrect item which is on the way to you. If possible, please keep the parcel in its original packaging ready to hand back to the courier.”

Dark Zero cites consumer regulatory guidelines posted by customers, that suggest Zavvi’s threat is unlawful. “The Distance Selling Regulations are very clear on this.” one consumer writes. “If you’ve been sent unsolicited goods, you are entitled to treat them as an unconditional gift and do with them as you choose. You are not required to keep them for any amount of time and you are certainly not required to pay for them. Any attempt to demand payment (by threatening means or otherwise) is unlawful.”
