Cook three to four slices of bacon, enough to render at least 1 – 3 ounces of fat. Once the bacon has cooled a bit, pour off the fat from the pan. Pour 750 ml of bourbon into a non-porous container. Strain the 1 – 3 ounces of bacon fat into the container and infuse for four to six hours at room temperature. Place mixture in freezer until all the fat is solidified. With a slotted spoon, remove fat and strain mixture back into bottle. Pass bourbon through a coffee filter to remove sediment if desired.

This works best with streaky US bacon

Not sure if the Brothers are aware but there is a request over in the Forum Request Forum for a Bacon Forum. Laudable goal I hear you say and I would agree until you realise that a Bacon Forum would be taking the Bacon from the BGRH table. Bad form I believe to interfer with another Brothers bacon.

BGRH is and should always remain the home of all thing Bacon. Just concider the consequences. Discussions of pork knuckles being MOVED to a different forum. Rasher samiches being delivered to the wrong forum. What if they start to also take the Beer to wash down their bacon samiches?

Bacon is the cornerstone of BGRH, the foundation on which the BGRH stands. Well, that and Beer. And 'Sits' rather then 'stands' but you get the drift.

Save our Bacon.
