Aw yeah there'd be less wastage but even just pranks and that would be a few a night in each branch. If there's say 5 workers in the branch at closing time and 3 large pizzas I'm sure at least a couple of them wouldn't want the pizza. I'm assuming anyway because the people in the Dominos here are mainly not fat so they can't be eating Dominos 5 nights a week. :pac:

It would be interesting to find out where these 'prank pizzas' go. Homeless shelters? A skip out the back? Someone from Dominos needs to verify this!

Unless they cook their pizzas with the 'reduced fat cheese? "yeah give me the reduced fat cheese, I'm on a diet.."

In fairness a large coke does have about 150% of your daily need of sugar, it's a massive difference, stupid as I may have felt the first time I said it having figured out just how bad it was. :pac:

Pizza that you order is usually way better than the stuff you'd get in the supermarket, OP. You may be ordering from the wrong place.

The 15 pints a lot of people have before going to McDonalds probably already pushed them over the sugar limit by a factor of a 1000 so what harms a coke gonna do :pac:

Yeah thats the point of the thread. No way is any supermarket pizza better than a pizza from one of the established pizza chains.

However I did have the worst pizza of my life from a place on Stephens Street in Dublin. It smelled fantastic on the way home and we couldn't wait to tuck into it but ended up throwing it out. It turned out their pepperoni was some kind of fake spam which looked normal from a distance but tasted like filth.

I like kebabs but i hate Abrakebabra. Food and sevice is abysmal.
Went in recently with a few mates.Service in Abra in Dundalk is a bit crazy @ the weekend but we thought we were ok.
    Anyway ordered the food.
Ordered a load of food and i was the big man,i'm ordering so i will pay.Was sober enough to say "Can you seperate the order's" and server say's "yep".
Every confidence that those behind the counter would get it right.

So we get the food, everyones food apparantly in the right bag's and we head out into the night, say goodnight and go our seperate ways in taxis.
Get home only to discover that i have all the "Fries",the other mate has all the burgers and the other one has the 3 flucking kebabs.
Thanks Abra, loll'd the next, but right there and then i was bloody furious:)

Dominos is delicious and the OP is a moany shíte :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,466 ✭✭✭Snakeblood

Dominos isn't great but it is edible.

You can easily buy frozen pizza bases in Tesco (which are good quality) some passata, mozzarella and basil (AND MEAT IF YOU MUST), and fire the whole thing into the oven for 20 minutes. It makes a good pizza.

Although my other half insists that the value meal rectangular pizzas you get in tesco are perfectly good as pizzas go, you just need to stick artichokes, rocket and parma ham on and have some good eating.

Takeaway pizza is ridiculously overpriced but my god a Dominos Pepperoni pizza with chicken dippers, garlic bread and a crap load of garlic dip is fúcking sensational.

Frozen pizza is crap... and I've tried every type there is!

Nothing as easy as lifting your phone, opening the pizza app and resubmitting your fave pizza and beers, only takes 5 seconds. 20 mins later the delivery dude/dudess brings it to your door, swipes the debit card and you are back sitting on the couch with a tasty pizza and cold beers 2 mins later.

Well worth the markup on any frozen pizza!

If I'm going to spend 20 quid on a takeaway, I'll get Indian or Thai.

Not what is essentially circular toast with molten cheese and tomato on top.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,284 ✭✭✭wyndham

It never costs €20 or anything like it for a large pizza with the constant deals and coupons. Got a dominos yesterday. Large pizza, double decadence base, roquito sweet chilis, pepperoni, ventriciana salami and bacon delivered for €14.99.
Still have enough of it left for lunch today. Would have been €11.99 had I collected it.

Frozen pizzas are not even close.

I've never paid €20 for pizza, there's always offers on.

Best pizza I've had delivered is pizza hut express, followed by dominos.

Best pizza I've had while out is Rays pizza by the central bank. That stuff is unbelieveable.

So you've never ordered a takeaway? Or even gone out to a restaurant or fast food place for that matter.

If you have you must be a fúcking moron, apparently.

Um yeah its is alot worse,
340 cals for a SLICE of Dominoes with meat, and if you order pizza you usually don't have one slice.

you can get a whole pizza in the supermarket that could be chicken and be 400 cals for the whole thing,

but it doesn't taste as good, curse you grease. If all fried food and overly sugary food was banned I would be happy.

As for the price, yeah well its a rip off but in the States fast food is a lot cheaper and I think people loose out if its more affordable if you become too relient on it, now don't go hiking the price of booze and ciggs on that bases sure we all still need to get wrecked.

Dr Oetker Pizzas rock . I always pick them up at 2 Euro. Half the time they're selling for almost 4 euro and the other half of the time they are 2 Euro in a kind of semi permanent sale. However if they ever stop selling them for 2 Euro I'm off to Aldi and Lidl

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,157 ✭✭✭srsly78

Sprinkle some olive oil on frozen pizza before cooking, makes a big difference.

There is a lot of variation in quality in frozen pizzas. Also variation in ovens used to cook (hotspots, air circulation etc). Those "Milano" frozen pizzas are ****ing lovely (expensive tho). In the UK they have different name: "Pizza Express" pizzas, from the chain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,802 ✭✭✭✭suicide_circus

My problem is I feel like total sh¡te after eating a dominos, its just so horribly greasy and stodgey, just look at the box it comes in, practically see-thru with the grease. I'm all gassy, sluggish, heartburny and constipated after it. It taste good in a durty salty fat bastard kinda way but the experience is too unnecessarily unhealthy for what you get out of it. And the sides are just so low grade and nasty.

    Gimme a Dr. Oetkar

ever hear of a diabetic? 15 spoons of sugar in a regular coke would probably kill them.

Asda and Sainsburys in the UK you can make your own pizza.

2.50 for a 10" with 4 toppings and about 3.50 for 14" with 4 toppings. Fresh not frozen and bloody lovely.

Do they still do that in Tesco Ireland? I remember them having Pizza bars with the base premade and you just helped yourself to whatever toppings, pay by weight and stick it in the oven once you got home. They were nice pizzas!

Ohhh that reminds me. Back in the day when Quinnsworth was still around they had a similar thing. Loads of trays of topping, sauce, different size base, pay by weight. Tasted lovely too. Then big bad tesco came in and got rid of it all

Not only is frozen pizza crap.

But the chances of you having a pizza oven at home are pretty remote too and you wont get the same from your zanussi even if its cranked up to 400degs.

Tesco do fresh pizzas and they are lovely (I'm sure the other supermarkets do too). A large ones costs around €3 iirc. Never understood the attraction for pizza takeaways either, massively overpriced, also you go to order with vouchers to be told the offers expired (not according to the voucher though ). Chinese, Indian takeaways etc I would preference anyday over them, each to their own I suppose.
