Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sounds good! I'm on a step back week so just the one way (6 miles) will do me nicely. And yes, I must dig out the special occasion shorts ;)

That sounds great, might be sailing Sunday but think it's the evening.

I can drive! Prepare for an early start :D

I *might' do both legs as had planned a longish run for Sunday, will see what the timing is like etc

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,355 ✭✭✭Bungy Girl

DG, If just going one way I assume it makes more sense to park in Bray, then get the DART to Greystones to the start, rather than have to DART it back to the car afterwards ?

I suppose so...you'll have to walk/jog from the dart station to the marina, will you need me a guide?! Darts to Greystones are only every half hour and the Sunday service is atrocious so you'll need to time it with military precision whichever way you do it. Remind me again why you are not trailing there and back? :p I'll be starting from the Raheen car park ('half way' up the head) which cuts a chunk off, I'm not being as foolhardy as it sounds...

Edit: oh yeah...step back week. Ok you're excused...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,009 ✭✭✭Firedance

there is a dart at 10.08 from Bray on Sunday that gets into GS at 10.17, I've no idea of distance from the station to the marina though, I'm going to have to leave Bray at 9/9.15am to 'jog' there and make the 10.30 start which is bit crack of dawnish so might just do one way, I can always do more miles in the PP on the way home!

There's a DART at 10:08 from Bray, gets in at 10:17 to Greystones. Would that allow enough time to get to the marina ? Not sure where marina is but will figure it out, no need for guide :D

Will book a wax at that rate and see ye there. I don't think I look good in short/shorts so will stick with my 3/4 length.

Hehe funny you should say that....I booked mine for the morning, ostensibly for my aqua jog on Wednesday but of course now I recognise the underlying urgency :D:D

I'm here! Been following the ever changing plans. Had been a doubt due to a possible camping trip but that's up in the air now so could be back in.

And some of them still wear headphones although numbers have decreased so I think DG might be winning that one :D

Ok I'm on for greystones - bray.

Never done it before though, is it on a cliff edge path? I'm afraid of heights!

Hi tattycoram, at no point is the cliff path open to a drop so you should be grand. There are sheer drops but there is secure fencing at all points. I haven't got a great head for sheer drops myself but have never felt nervous along this stretch. Hope that helps!

Once you do the cliff path , you'll wonder why you never did it before. Its a regular training run for me, and its never boring. I've run it in all conditions, including at night with headtorch.

Don't worry - it'll be a new route/experience for most of us. I'll PM you my number so we can all find eachother on Sunday.

 You must have a searchlight or something? I've hit the deck there a couple of time in broad daylight!

I grew up just down the road and it's my absolute favourite place to run. Wish I could join you all - I'll have to make do with the New Forest instead.

    headtorch :http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FYVF62C?keywords=led%20lenser%20r7%20head%20torch&qid=1437746303&ref_=sr_1_fkmr1_2&sr=8-2-fkmr1

I won't tell you that during one of my night runs I came across a guy walking along the path dressed in black with face covered by his coat and no light.

    I ran a bit faster.

Ok, so confirmed for tomorrow Greystones to Bray trail run we have:

    Dubgal
    Firedance
    Aquinn
    Bungy Girl
    Tattycoram

Plan is to get the 10:08 DART from Bray to Greystones then walk/jog to the start of the trail for a 10:30 start.

If anyone else wants to join us the more the merrier. We'll meet at Bray DART station around 10 a.m. (the good looking bunch wearing running gear and probably carbo-loading with baked goods ;))

Sorry! :o I had thought of that a few days ago then promptly forgot about it again. Apologies, it would have been nice to meet you. Wasn't the best day for views, but we did have an enjoyable run.

Unfortunately not Adrian. Visibility was pretty poor and it was spitting down so didn't even bring the phone with. Can imagine it would be a spectacular run on a clear day. We'll do it again !
