Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My top beauty tip is to stop wearing make up every day.
I might wear it once a week, also drink two pints of water a day, use a good thick moisturizer and don't smoke.

If i was in the audience i would have been so pissed off just getting vaseline, the way she built it up i'd say half those women were thinking they were getting a tub of creme de la mer :D

Erm, it was a crystal-encrusted tub of Vaseline. V fancy. That's why they went all crazy.

Also, Tyra Banks is INSANE. If she was expecting me to go nuts over Vaseline, I'd go nuts over Vaseline. God knows what she'd do to you otherwise.

She is nuts alright, scary scary woman.
You can get a piece of sh¡t, stick a pin through it with some nice fancy ribbon and call it 'enchanted'... or er something, at the end of the day it's still sh¡t. Crystal (definetly lab created) encrusted or not, it's still a tub of vaseline.

I wanna know what Girl Fridays secret is!
    Her skin is like porceline.

Personally i just waged a slow and steady campaign until the popular idea of male beauty matched my features.

It cost a lot of money, took a lot of time and some good men died along the way.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,021 ✭✭✭LadyE

    OH MY GOD!!

Is she for real?? WTF is she at with the lying on the floor screaming?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,183 ✭✭✭✭Will

i think she wants to be like oprah mixed in with tom cruise, horrible mix, dangerous too

only cos cruise is a nut job, <3 oprah :pac:

Was kinda refreshing seeing a supermodel without makeup on,though poor Tyra comes across as mad as a march hare in that :)

I always find my skin looks a lot better when I havent been drinking. I've been on the booze a lot recently and its now spot central :(

    WHAT THE FCUK WAS THAT

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,496 ✭✭✭LolaLuv

It never ceases to amaze me how obnoxious she is. Anyway, my beauty secret is writing down the compliments I get. That way when I feel like ****e about myself I can look back at the list, and it gives me a confidence boost, which is really the key to beauty.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,816 ✭✭✭Acacia

Eh...they do know you can buy Vaseline in a supermarket for like two quid, don't they?

I thought I was witnessing some mass religious conversion or something, the way they were going on.

Actually, has anyone else noticed the general hysteria when there is 'Tyra mail' on America's Next Top Model? Calm the fcek down people, she's not that great...

Along with a genuine smile, and genuine curiosity about people.

    And, of course, Vaseline.

Can someone who was silly brave enough to watch the whole thing tell me what the vaseline was for?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 43,045 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

    Moisturiser and for glossy skin.

The rolling around on the floor while screaming ARRRRGGGHHH VASELINE EEAAAAAHHHHHH was fairly disturbing

ffs that must be some moisturiser.

It is petroleum jelly - basically it is a paraffin-type byproduct of the oil industry. It doesn't absorb into your skin at all and feels horrible and greasy, the only advantage of it is that it acts as a barrier to stop moisture from leaving your skin. I will use it as a lipbalm if I'm stuck but I can't understand how people can use it on their faces, it is a surefire way to clog your pores

Isn't it supposedly a carcinogen? Good ol' Tyra...bringing crystal-encrusted cancer to the masses. :pac:

Apparently so... The link is http://www.health-report.co.uk/petroleum_petrolatum_health_concerns.htm but I can't open it at the moment because the user has exceeded their bandwidth (??)

I think Vaseline is horrible. Also my hairdresser has done Tyra's hair a few times and says she is the biggest bitch walking this earth, and she just looks so nice rolling around of the floor like that.....

^ Ha. My hairdresser does Naomi Cambpells for fashion week, boy does she have stories!

Vaseline is really good to put on your face on really cold days. Protects the skin. elizabeth arden has made a fortune out of selling vaseline but calls it 8 hour cream.

I dont agree, vaseline does nothing to help if my lips are chapped, whilst 8 hour does wonders, as with peeling skin etc

    +1

Thaed is right about ejaculate being good for the skin, but the idea of a jar full of it in my bathroom to be applied twice daily... too gross for words! :o

As for that video... too stupid for words.

Look up at the people who gave their thanks to "Zaph's" rather disturbing post above...

Look who gave their thanks ->

    Des and TomDunne

    Hahahahaha :D

Oh Tyra, give it up. You'll never be the next Oprah.
Oprah gives her audiences cars, Tyra gives them petroleum jelly.

Anyhoo, moisturiser is great for the skin, moisturise morning and night and put it on generously espcially in this cold weather.
Oh, drink plenty of water and get a good night's sleep.

Vaseline: good for putting on squeaky door hinges.

:)I only use vaseline on my lips!

For some reason im a bit wary of using it anywere else!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 314 ✭✭Elle Victorine

I won't dispute its uses to be honest. It's great for removing eye make up.

I don't think I have a beauty secret but I don't like full on make up generally anyway. Think it can ruin people's complexion. Lots of moisturizer maybe. I love moisturizer :)

And carmex...weird as it sounds it's really good on my nose when I have a cold and my nose is all red and sore.

The second half is slightly less annoying.

I dread to think what would have happened if she'd been in the George:D

Man these women would have had a heartattack if they were in the late late show audience where they'd actually get okay gifts!!!!
