They do??I didn't see a sale on my soymilk, but the alpro yoghurt is 2/€2.50... I never really was interested in soy yoghurt back in Canada.. I'm not sure if it is because alpro tastes better or there is generally less vegan food choices here. :|

Got Linda McCartney Sausage Rolls for only €1.59 in Dunnes earlier! I don't usually see them in there. Much cheaper than the €3.15 I paid for them last time in The Health Store in Bray :)

I pop into the ILAC centre one (entrance nearest Delhi O'Delhi) - currently Linda McCartney 1kg frozen soymince is €4.50 (huge bag) but watch out - the Quorn burgers, marked down to €1.50 on the freezer, actually scan for €2, so keep an eye on the till/your receipt.
I pointed this out a month back but they still haven't fixed it.

Do any city center Tesco stores sell these? thanks.

Om nom nom, I tried the Masala, sweet chili and Thai curry Innocent Veggie Pots. Thought the thai curry was a bit bland, but loved the masala one and husband had the sweet chili one and thought it was great. Very handy, especially at half price and all good ingredients etc. but not so sure I'll be buying them up when they're 3.99 each!

I got mine in the SuperMegaTesco in Naas, btw

The thai curry one was such a let down, I had to make myself finish it, it was so tasteless and the textures were awful.

Quorn frozen sausages for 1.50 @Iceland
I think they had some Linda McCartney stuff as well in offer but I can't really recall as I totally despise her stuff.
Tesco were selling 2 family bag of quorn chicken style pieces for 4€ till last sunday, worth to check if they still have it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 582 ✭✭✭Thoushaltnot

Till next Tuesday, the 6th, Dunnes have the Quorn frozen sausages and frozen quarter pounders for €1.75 a packet. Spotted this in Stephens Green, so it'll be the bigger Dunnes stores.

Innocent smoothies, 1L range for €3
Glenisk yoghurt pots - 2 for €4 the Greek style, but 2 for €3 the other pots.

Are those sausages worth getting? I've had lovely veggie sausages and rotten ones. Nothing's ever come close to sosmix :( At €1.75 I wouldn't mind just chancing it except for the fact that I might have to go to a few Dunnes to find them.

I really love them but since I've never tried the sosmix one I can't really tell you if they are any better.
Consider that eggs are used as a binder so they are not pure vegetarian.
I've tried the granose mix and I think they are decent even if they can't be really compared in terms of texture and flavour to quorn.
If you come across the leek and cheese sausage in tesco I would say they are really worth trying :)

Banalun organic pastas and pasta sauces all a €1 in Superquinn at the mo.

As long as I can't actually see or taste or smell eggs in what I'm eating I don't mind it once in a while! Spose I'll chance it so :)

If you're ever near an ASDA up North try their own sossy mix. It's bloody close and really nice. Their burger mix is worth trying too. They also have a decent range of other veggie products if you're there.

GranoVita pates (olive, vegetable/shiitake) 99c each on today's Sunday offer.
Might be some left over, if you go tomorrow.

300gr Quorn chicken style pieces for 1.75 @ Dunnes
They also have the quorn peppered steak reduced

There's an offer up here today for 2 mains and 2 drinks for €14 at Govinda's. I'm dithering over it myself as usually the small plate for €5.50 is enough for me. I haven't tried the veggie burger though so if anyone has do tell.

I saw that too but tbh I don't think it's that great a deal coz I'd normally share a large plate for 10.50 or w/e it is now and drink the water.
It's good that you can use it at any of their locations though so might be worth it for aungier st or merrion row.

Not a special offer as they don't seem to be reduced but tesco are now doing vegetarian hairbo for about 1.05 a bag I think. It's called funny mix, in an orangey bag, and there are strawberries, cola bottles and starfish.

Now they are a sort of weird texture, not really chewy, sort of hard chewy that breaks into lumps and they seem to go kind of slimy in the bag.
I really like them though and they had mixed responses from non veggies, some love em, some hate em.

Quorn mince and 'chicken' pieces, 300g bags both reduced to €1.75 in Dunnes till the 27th Sept.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 582 ✭✭✭Thoushaltnot

Tesco's offer till the 25th, 3 selected Quorn products for €6 (some of the fancier range like 'meat'balls and cheese & broccoli escalopes).

The large 500gr bags of Quorn mince are included in this, which makes it pretty sweet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,028 ✭✭✭✭--LOS--

As well as the 3 for €6, tesco also have some of the other quorn range reduced.....quorn tikka masala for around a €1, quorn lasagne something similar.

Tesco have also introduced some nice Linda McCartney stuff, in Phibsboro I've seen the Linda McCartney sausages, Linda McCartney mince pies, Linda McCartney mozzeralla burgers. This stuff seems to be selling at a bargain introductory price at the moment, the pack of 4 pies are only €1.39. Just wish I had a bigger freezer :(

Don't get what Tesco's policy is on Linda McCartney stuff. My two nearest, Nutgrove and Dundrum, have had almost nothing from that range for ages.

well this is only brand new in tesco phibsboro, have never seen it there before. Havent been in any other tesco recently so dont know about them. But even the quorn range varies from tesco to tesco, which is annoying, tesco phibsboro if you are listening you need to stock the quorn dippers pronto :P

the quorn roasts are down from 6e to 1.94 in tesco...i bought 4.

A new linda mccartney range is being introduced at low prices too. cheddar burger things look great.

6 sausage rolls for 1.24 in tesco too, and they are better than real sausage rolls imo.

Which Tesco? All of them?! ... Rathmines?!! *flails* I LOVE THOSE ROASTS OH GOD YUM

Unlikley. They have very little veggie stock and what they do have is hidden. Awful store. Dundrum might be better.

All have the offer, in fact, all the Tescos I have got the sausage rolls and roasts from never had them in stock before. They've added the extra stuff to both tescos I've gone to as well. I picked up 3 more sausage roll packs and another roast today. :o

Mmmmm no. As predicted Rathmines has just a basic Quorn range, no roasts and absolutely no Linda McC products. It has however the stickiest floors in the country and, bar one or two lovely people, the most obnoxious staff in supermarketdom.

Haha unfortunate! I'm quite lucky the two tescos near me are upping their stock. Some like parnell ahve jsut shrunk and shrunk, now they only have one quorn product.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,323 ✭✭✭Slaphead07

    Haha unfortunate!
Typical. I might take a spin out to the Merrion branch... they have everything a middle aged vegetarian could ever want. Except Hush Puppies.

This has all changed from today!!! I couldn't believe my eyes!

    Tesco vege mince
Linda McCartney pies, sausages, sausage rolls, 1/4 pouner mozarella burgers.
Quorn rasher slices, sausages, fillets, crispy fillets, dippers, chicken burgers, meatballs, mince.

The staff and floors remain the same. :pac:

It's a happy, happy day, Tar. I've just finished the 1/4 pounder mozzarella burger there from LindaMcC.. I have to say, it is the most meat like product I have ever tasted. Absolutely EPIC! If I wasn't so full, i'd eat a second.:o

the quorn roasts are down from 6e to 1.94 in tesco...i bought 4.

I got 3 last week under the "3 for €6" offer (even though that worked out worse value!)

I noticed a couple of days ago that they were now €4.99 but it still said "3 for €6" again so I grabbed another 3. Got to the till and was charged €14.97 for the 3 of them. Off I went to the customer services department where they now give you double the difference if you're overcharged.

So I got back €17.94 and kept the 3 Quorn roasts :)

The downside is that they removed the roasts from the "3 for €6" offer so if your Tesco still has the offer up then I advise you to fill your trolley immediately :D

    Quorn wars II

Frozen quorn products, 150g-300g, all 25% off. And they seemed to have introduced the fishless fingers and tuna-like and sweetcorn patties to regular stock, so they are at reduced prices too. They didn't seem to be included in the recent Tescos 3 for €6 offer, so stock up if you like 'em.
Innocent smoothies, half price at €1.84
    All till the 8th November.

President Emmentaal down to €3 a pack too.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 60,104 Mod ✭✭✭✭Tar.Aldarion

be wary of the innocent smoothies. they reduced sizes from 1 litre to 750ml and barely changed the price. It's not really a deal to even get them at half price nearly...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭JTMan

Iceland have a lot of the Quorn products on sale for 2 EUR each. Normal Iceland price for Quorn products. Much cheaper than Tesco.
