Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I like Olivera but I just think max is in a league of his own compared to him, his improvement since the McGregor fight has been amazing, and even then he still showed a lot. One of my favorite fighters and I look forward to the eventual rematch.

Love Silva but he's so hot and cold it's unbelievable, Magny will win if he gets out of the first Imo but it's going to be a tough tough fight, on mobile so will go in Greater detail later.

Letourneau 1 lb over weight for the womens fight weigh in, has an hour to lose it.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 18,217 Mod ✭✭✭✭CatFromHue

Did anyone else think they were taking a bit too much time to weigh each fighter?

    Not particularly.

Letourneau makes weight on second weigh-in, using the towel.

Definitely. It was only 5-10 seconds longer than normal but it was noticeable for sure. Saw it commented on a lot on a few other forums. Probably just down to the guy on the scales.

Does anyone know if there'll be a live JRE Fight Companion for tonights event?
Can't seem to find anything online about there being one

These Sunday night cards are a killer..work in the morning but have a feeling this will turn out to be a pretty solid card.

Will see how it goes and make a call as the fights progress if they eyes can stay open!

Should be an hour or two earlier being in Canada?

Only an hour earlier, main cards at 2am. Prelims already on.

Beal's left leg has been mashed since rd1 - I think those crazy heel stomps from guard actually took a toll.

Only 1 leg kick in rd 2 and 3 and it looked like it might buckle him.

30-27 for Chris Beal and loses by split decision???

    Wut??

There's all my bets for the night finished anyway!

    Although contemplating lumping on Holloway

Despite being an underdog in this fight, I think Krylov has a big chance in this fight. He's very heavy handed.

Madness that he actually started out at heavyweight when he weighed 208.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 12,812 Mod ✭✭✭✭riffmongous

That was a bit of fun

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

I don't know what De Lima was doing there. Sloppy as hell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

That was even more impressive given that Krylov looked like he just got out of bed and straight into the Octagon.

    Good finish there.

That's Stout finished you'd imagine. He's got the skills but not the chin. Brutal finish.

What the hell? Perez just retired!!! He's only 26!

I was making tea, missed that. So he won in dominant style and then retired?

During the post-fight interview he said, "I made my dreams come true. This is my first win in the UFC and my last. I'm done after this. I'm done putting my family and my body through all this."

    Mad stuff.

Fair play to him, if his hearts not in it why kep at it. It's not like guys outside the top 5 are making crazy money and the reebok deal is killing their earning potential.

Michael Bisping on Fox Sports says that Perez "doesn't have the cajones to keep fighting" right after saying, "I don't know the guy".

What an absolutely stupid comment to make.

Holloway comes across like a really nice, humble dude.

When the women were on the ground there I didn't know who's arm that was throwing the punches!

Thought she was trying too hard for the triangle, and didn't do enough to hold it when the oppotunity was there.

She kept grabbing her right ankle with her right hand and pulling it forward, but then never brought her left over the finish the guard and then just trying the same thing again.

You'd think Valerie might know enough English to comprehend what "assess" meant ....she's CANADIAN for Christ's sake!

Best thing she did on the ground was getting that weird inverted head triangle in the first. ;-)

I think Letourneau was just physically too strong on the ground for her and was able to power away from anything Moroz tried to set up.

Plenty of people in Canada don't speak a word of English.

When she literally just stood up in the third it was kinda funny.
