If only they showed beyond that speed. Any one know the reason why they don't show beyond 299 km/h?

If you watch the closely the revs continue to climb for another 2-300 after he 'tops out'

Don't think so, he had a whole other gear to go!

Lol I wasn't watching it that closely. That would have made a huge difference. Going up a gear wouldn't have gotten him any faster either.

When I saw the first bit of this I thought the driver of the car/minivan was a goner. Surprisingly little damage to it, must have shunted off backwards a lot.

This might have gone in the dashcam thread either...

How long does braking from 300km/h to 50km/h take???

    Not that long ;)

I'd be shocked if that wasn't a kilometer from when he started braking.

The roadside posts seem to be spread at 100m distances. By that I think about 450m which is impressive!

For me it looks like less than 300 metres.
At least judging by poles on the side of the road (they are there every 100m).

Would appear your right, although I would have said 400(hes mid way between 1 when he starts, and mid way through another after passing 3), still impressive though. As a bike though, I look at that and think thats so stupid. He literally can't do anything but break in a straight line and hope for the best.

    Hmmm.
    Maybe I'm seeing it wrong.
But I paused video by every pole.
But it seems that he starts braking something midway between the poles. By passing first pole he is at 273km/h so that's already 50m of braking.
Then by next pole (150m) he is at 212km/h. Next pole (250m) is at 122km/h. And half distance from that pole to the next he is already at about 50-60km/h.
So looks like just tiny bit less than 300metres to me.

Mathematically it makes sense as well.
As braking distance is dependant on square of speed, then we have.
300km/h at the beginning - square of speed (90,000)
    273km/h after 50metres - square of speed (74,529)
    212km/h after 100metres - square of speed (44,944)
    122km/h after 100metres - square of speed (14,884)
    60km/h after 40metres - square of speed (3,600).

As you can see, he is loosing about 30,000 (in squared speed measure) per 100 metres.

    Very good result.
Gives about 33metres braking from 100km/h to 0.

    Lucky idiot anyway.

Yep sorry I copped another pole on the roadside and took it as an extra 100m, right you are Cinio :)
