Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Prostitute murder in Dublin 1920s/30s?

Hi Recently watched the excellent Striapacha documentaries on tg4 and there was mention of a case of a young prostitute murdered by a Garda in the Dublin mountains. I think it was 1920s/1930s. Can someone tell me the name of the girl? It was an unusual name if I remember correctly Thanks

That Come Here to Me article is hugely informative. Honor Bright's real name was Lizzie O'Neill. She left behind a five-year-old son named Kevin Barry. Kevin moved to Wales, married a German and had 9 children (one of the kids contributes that).
It would be a refreshingly honest attitude towards our past if some of Dublin's streets commemorated such marginalised people as a reminder of abuses of power and a warning about the sanctimonious conceits of our supposed "Christian virtues".
