Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any more info on the practice sessions or is it invite-only?

The info I have is that Thurs, media can only be there for the first 30min. Friday, media can stay for the duration.

But, in saying that, I think Fri will be very basic stuff.

The high school training in UCD is all media only, on Thurs.

I gather from the emails I have seen, that they are closed to the public. I could be wrong though.

Can anyone clear something up about stadium access?
    According to this picture: http://www.avivastadium.ie/images/header/aviva-stadium-way-finder-map.jpg
It says if you're in the east stand (M,N,O) to approach from the herbert road side. Now, in the old days if you're coming from town and you're in these sections, you'll come down shelbourne road and turn left down lansdowne. Is that still allowed, or do they direct you around to the herbert road entrance?

The signs are generally pretty clearly marked the closer you get to the stadium. There are plenty of stewards around if you're not sure.

Notre Dame's Friday session is a closed session. Navy's Friday session is a walk-through and is open to the media for the duration of it.

Someone on the FB group for this game said a handful of tickets for the game just became available recently. They all seem to have been snapped up now but it's always worth checking to see if more become available. These things can happen at the last minute.

Does anyone know if I can get tickets easily enough at the gate for the games a Páirc Tailteann or will I have to pre-order them? I wont be able to get there until halfway through the first game but will that make a difference?

I'd be surprised if tickets weren't available at the gate!

Buddy managed to grab one for Saturday off ticketmaster today for €38!!!!

Apparently there will be no jerseys available at the game, just the merchandise that's available on Grafton Street. Not official but that's what I heard!

As long as the program is a size that can fit in my back pocket so I don't lose it when I go boozing afterwards, I'll be happy

So what time should I aim to get to the stadium for to get full matchday experience?

Yeah, I'm with you on that one. The one thing I don't want is for it to be over as a contest at half time.

Nope. They're the "home" team, but ND are 16 points favourites.

Anyone know good places to go in Dublin? We're staying in the Westin in the City. I don't want to go to any tourist traps.
My cousins say that I have to go to the Palace Bar which is a 'real pub'? Anyone know about it? Is it near (or in) the city?

The Westin hotel is less than a minute walk from the Palace bar but that's at the very edge of an area called Temple Bar which is the most toursity place in the whole city. So it will be convenient for you and might be a nice place to finish off your night before you retire for the night. Temple Bar will be packed on Friday night so if you want pubs that are less tourist trap like, I'd head over to the Baggott Street area. It's about a 10-15 walk from your hotel.

Palace is good, just make sure you go to Palace on fleet street, not palace on Camden Street. They're very different places!!

For a different kind of pub, try Against the Grain on Wexford Street (or their other pubs The Black Sheep or Brew Dock). They're nice pubs that serve Irish craft beer and good food. Be warned though, no Guinness on Draught (some great Irish Whiskey's though). Here's their website. Enjoy your visit.

You will pay over the odds off touts on the day judging by the mad sales on ebay and other places.

Mulligans on Poolbeg St is very close to you, great pub. The Palace Bar in Temple Bar is very good, one of the very few places in Temple Bar worth going to. The Garage Bar at the far end of Temple Bar is lively and not too touristy if you insist on staying that end of town, thats just before the Clarence Hotel. Avoid most other bars though, they are a kip in Temple Bar.

Head up Grafton St and try McDaids (Harry St- the right turn off just before HMV) or Keoghs (St Anne's St- the left turn off after Bewleys/Cafe Bar Deli on the right hand side of Grafton St).
