Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'll second this and add that after getting back from Perth last month, we had such a great time that we've decided we're selling up and going back for good and we'll back on the plane over there in 46 hours and 50 minutes time. :D

The container with our stuff left on Wednesday, we're handing the keys to our rental property tomorrow. One car sold, the other will be collected from the airport hotel to be sold after we're gone, just got someone to collect my aquariums today then the rest will be collected by SVP after we're gone.

Literally half of our possessions will be going to charity (several thousands of euro in clothes and toys) and plenty of others have had real bargains off us, so that has to count for our good deed for the year and a pretty good extension to the original BA thread imho! :D

Wow, that thread obviously had a pretty major impact on your life. Best of luck.

The Peppa/Thomas small bikes for me. Bought 7 of them for niece/nephew and SV De Paul and only paid 122.5 instead of almost 400. Two very happy siblings who could give bigger presents next week than they thought and hopefully a few delighted kids who will get the bikes from SVDP.

Nothing major stands out but I reckon I got at least €70 of Hailo codes from here. Rarely use taxis but haven't had to pay for one in ages as I've had the codes. Chuffed with that tbh.

For me it was the SJ4000 (GoPro Alt).

After a bit of messing I eventually got mine, and brought it on 2 holidays with great pics & video.

Ironically, the only thing that didn't survive was the official GoPro selfie stick. Must remember to seek a refund for that!

    - Philips LivingColors £28.99

If the selfie stick was a gopole, it's not official gopro. Mine failed too, I took a snap of the failure said where I'd bought it and they posted me a new one registered post. Didn't need a receipt or anything.

So ... thanks very much to all the posters who've kept us entertained and saved us a few bob over the year.

I wonder if we could choose a BA of the year?

My vote goes to Emirates flights to Australia for 400 euro return.

A bargain for the bloke that got it for that price before they realised their mistake and upped it to the correct €299!

I know, I was very lucky, if it wasn't for bargain alerts I would have never seen it or got a code. Very much appreciate it. For €299 it's not a bad price considering its worth €400 plus.

Slim pickings this year. Tesco Argos and Harveys had no real good bargains.
At least none that don't pop up during the rest of the year.

Maybe its a good sign for them as they don't have tonnes of left over stock.

bought original NIB Studio Beats Wireless for €155 Euros through Adverts instead of the €380.00 in the shop

the mamas and papas mis-price bargin. Managed to pick up of 180 quid worth of clothes for 21 euro!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 621 ✭✭✭Bebo stunnah

Is it me or has been the worst year so far for bargain alerts? In particularly the 'Freebie' section.
That being said, I did pick up the 40" smart tv in January, but nothing since :(

I was in the states around Black Friday/Cyber Monday and there is no comparison. Over there it seems to be actual sales whereas here it seems to be stores trying to get rid of their last seasons items/end of line.

The Nintendo DS Pokemon game with the bluetooth keyboard in Argos €6.99
came with a little stand, use it all the time with my nexus 7 running linux shells.

The Lenovo n20p chromebook I'm typing on right now €189.99

Picked up a 2DS (€99) for xmas for one of the kids in Harvey Normans (who I would normally complain of as being rubbish)

Also the Canon SX510 for €169 less than half price - an excellent bridge camera for us as didn't want a dslr
