Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hello all .......
    where would be the best place to moor a 24 foot boat in the south of ireland . at reasonable rates where there are facilities .

    You'd want to be more specific than that if you want a response here. What do you mean by 'south of ireland' What size boat? What facilities are needed? Fresh or saltwater? What is your notion of reasonable?

    inland waterways in a marina that has good facilities at a reasonable rate not to far from dublin would be great .

    My Dad uses Albert Lock marina in Dromsna. Michael & Family are extremly decent. It has plenty of berths and facilities and is 2hrs from Dublin. The only niggle is the need to go through the Albert Lock to get to Carrick on Shannon but its never bothered us much and Dromod and Rooskey are close by.

    Otherwise Quigleys and Lakeside marina are on the inner lakes on Lough Ree and are 90min from Dublin. Great location I would imagine they have all the facilities you need.

    There are many others but these are the only ones I have experience with.

    Shannon sailing, Dromineer, big lake with plenty of water and harbours to explore. Just off the main Dublin to Cork road.

    LockM, as you are in Dublin you should get a price from the marinas in DL and Greystones and use that as a basis for comparison. I have my own mooring (sea, so free:) ) so I'm not in a position to contribute. Hopefully some of the IWA people here can give some advice. But bear in mind that a dearer berth usually would / should have better security and the ensuing peace of mind (and possible cheaper insurance cost) could make it worth it.
