Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Oars - Irish Lake Boat

    Hi Folks,

Hoping to get some advice in regards to some details regarding the above topic.
I am going to replace the oars on my typical Irish lake boat, most likely by simply replicating the existing oars myself.
So a couple of questions, what are the typically used woods for this purpose?
And secondly what would the ideal wood sealant/finish be??

Lastly if anyone had any links to oar designs or similar information it'd be great as it'd allow comparison and furtger reading.
Most of the googling I've done leads to dinghy/inflatable paddles which ain't all that applicable.

Thanks for any help offered folks!
