Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

I've just joined a gym and I'm looking for advice about the best routine to follow. I'm not a big cardio fan, and I'd like to start lifting weights, but I don't even know how to go about it.

Let me tell you my stats and goals and that might help.

I'm female, 5'5, 157lbs, hourglass shaped and I carry most of my weight on my belly.

I eat a fairly clean diet (no sugar or processed food) but I do eat a little more carbs and less protein than I maybe should. I'm trying to remedy that though, and I'm quite knowledgeable about nutrition so I don't need help there. I'm eating around 1,400 cals a day but I have an extremely sedentary lifestyle right now.

My main goal is fat loss and secondary goal is toning up. I have a strong lower body and a pitifully weak upper body :o.

Can anyone recommend a routine? How much and what kind of cardio and what kind of strength training? I'll try to book a personal training session but I'd love to hear from the expertise in this forum too.

    Thanks!
