    I would say that it would definitely be more rude to knowingly walk around with it unzipped rather than discreetly zip up.

    Delighted to see this thread. The zip on my jeans recently broke so it slides down regularly as I am walking, hence I have to zip it up. Every time I do though I get really embarrassed as though I am doing something "dirty".

    Get a key ring and attach it to the zip,put the key ring over the button on your jeans,then button your jeans.Your zip will stay up.

    I had to do this in an arthouse cinema only yesterday. The best thing to do is tip your neighbours on the shoulder and politely explain the situation before zipping up.
