Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Volvo S60 D5 Oil Leak

Hey guys, was just heading out to remove the EGR valve on the Volvo to give it a clean and I noticed oil on the engine cover, then I noticed where the oil is coming from. Any idea how serious this is?

At the moment the car is getting closer to requiring a full service and check up, shortly before or after it will need a full set of tires, and I've got the faulty dash that is prevalent in my year of is S60 (which is about a €900+ to get sorted). If this oil leak is a quick fix, I'll sort it myself and carry on. If not, I'll wait until the NCT is out and I'll scrap it.

That's not an oil leak it is an injector copper washer which isn't sealing properly. This allows combustion gases to escape which leads to a build up of a substance that looks like oil.

See Nissan Doctor's thread about the same issue here:

Thank ya kindly. I'll have to see if the process for removal is any different for the Volvo. Looks like I'll need to get on it right away as there is quite a bit of build up around it.
