Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't like the photo. Looks like something you'd do for a couple getting married.

Reminds me of the terrible Waterford Crest a few years ago.

Judging from Ger Wyleys clearance sale on Waterford Jerseys atm, I'd say yes!

We're definetly getting a new one, every sports shop is selling them dirt cheap at the minute, it's just a matter of when it'll be released!

Cool, I liked the big change when we moved to the new style jerseys 2 years ago, hopefully they can come up with a new cool design. The old jerseys were awful in fairness.

Agreed! Fixing the texture of the jerseys was the main thing. The 2007 jersey would have been really nice but for the feel of it! In that sense 2009 was an improvement. Really like the last set of jerseys, particularly the keepers jersey. Hopefully, the new one will be nice as well. Hopefully 3 will still be sponsors as well, that logo looks really nice on the jersey :D

Shocked Dublin dont have one out in time for Christmas given that they are just on the back of an all ireland win and are otherwise a very market aware county board with a huge population of supporters to tap into.

From what I heard there wont be one.

I suppose fair play to Dublin in one sense as kids will have their mothers pestered enough over christmas. the last arnotts shirt from 2009 lasted only one year so perhaps if the current shirt gets another year or two it would make up for putting the fans through the extra expense back in 2010.

current shirt is a beaut imo and its predecessor was nice too. Judging by the for sale prices here , it would seem Louth, Mayo and Longford will also change in 2012 and Carlow are due a change also.

As an aside if you get a chance check out some other Stade Francais jersey's as the above one by comparison is very toned down and conservative!

Sneak peek at the new Kerry geansai in The Kingdom paper this week. Its Marc O Se with a few school childers holding a shirt with the new crest. Can't find pic at the mo though. Collar seems to be all green and appears to be a white trim to gold hoop. The new crest does not look the mai west on it either!

Ah when Waterford changed the crest in 2008 it was an improvement, but then should we have changed it from the original three ships in the first place?

I agree with MountainLad that the new Waterford crest is nicer than the previous one.

The reason Waterford changed from the old "three Ships" crest is twofold.

1- The old crest wasn't copyrighted (same as other counties) so anybody could use it without permission from the county board.
    &
2- The 3 ships is the symbol of Waterford City. The new crest contains the 3 ships of the city plus St Declans round tower in Ardmore which is the symbol of the county.

Have to say the current Tipperary one which we introduced at the turn of the millennium is class. i hope we are never daft enough to change it. so simple and effective with the symbol of the county, the rock of cashel, standing proud. if i would change anything about it id maybe relocate the Hurley's and football on it to outside of the shield.

Is that a deer in the new Kerry crest? Looks strange.

Down fans may not be happy

    From Hoganstand
    Down seeking new sponsor
    28 November 2011
Down GAA are seeking a new sponsor after the Canal Court Hotel in Newry confirmed that they would be ending their 12-year association with the Mourne County.

The county board chairman and secretary, along with the head of their finance committee, Feargal McCormack, are a part of the sub-committee which has been put together to find a new sponsor for next year.

"The Canal Court made an investment in Down GAA at a time when it was much needed and we will always be grateful to John and Paddy McPartland for their support," said county board chairman, Seamus Walsh.

"We hope that the brand and name that is the Canal Court Hotel will continue to be associated with Down GAA in other ways."

    New Kerry Jersey:

37 Rings on the back of the collar representing the All Ireland victories.

Couldn't have stars, would be like the US flag.

    Better look at it here:

I like it. New crest is growing on me.

What's the obsession with GAA teams plastering the name all over the jersey? That Kerry one for example. Is it really necessary to have Ciarri on the back and on both sleeves? Isnt the crest sufficient?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,217 ✭✭✭Justin10

    Beauty.

O'Neills make some really nice jerseys in comparison to the ****e Adidas and Nike get away with.

Seriously, nice jersey sponsored by a local company done good. Also naming rights to Pearse Park involved in this deal, now to be called Glennon Bros Pearse Park or some such nonsense

God knows what you're looking at but i count 3 on the shoulders anyway i look at it. One white, one yellow, one white... or if you count the blue ones, there's 3 blue stripes

i see exactly what you mean :)
lol perspective is amazing really. i was counting the two white stripes on the shoulder as the only stripes but i can see how the yellow in the middle can be considered a stripe also

Haha i used always love looking at those pictures where u can see 2 things, like the old woman and the young woman picture

    chica_o_vieja.jpg

But back on topic, i think i read somewhere that O'Neills consider it 4 stripes and not 3 to get around the Adidas copyright. They count the white as dividing the colours. Like in a cork jersey with 3 white stripes, they consider the red being the stripes

Is it just me or did Kerry take a little inspiration from Carlsberg for their lettering?
