Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know of any photoshop courses or training in the city? Ideally a full day or 2 rather than spread over 10 weeks

I did this guy's course recently and thought it was good

He is in Oughterard though so if you're in town and don't drive it could be tough getting there. I think they might be thin on the ground because I came from Athenry thinking I'd have traveled longest, in fact I traveled shortest.

Any recommendations for flowers in the city? I usually get a bunch of whatever looks nice in the market on Saturdays but I need some tonight! Don't want anything too fussy though.

There is a guy in Ryans Homestore (Lombard St.) who sharpens knives. Not sure if he does blades, but you could check with him.

Hey, folks, is anyone here driving to and from Cork for the Black Stone Cherry concert today? If so, would you be looking for a travel partner? I'm supposed to be heading to the show, but I just discovered that the last buses back leave before the show starts. Of course, I'd be more than happy to chip in for petrol.

Have a look at this before you invest.

You can get 4 litres of low fat milk for €2.80 so thats €0.70 a litre

You can get 2.5kg of unflavoured whey on myprotein for €26.34, and you need 20g of this to raise the protein per litre of the milk to 50g. Which costs €0.21

So you can make your own "protein milk" for €0.91 / litre instead of €1.89

The Photographers in Woodquay - I think it's called Farrells Photostudio, I know they do alot of restoration work for photographs, might include albums too.

    Hi,

I'm looking for a physio for my young son. He needs work on his calfs and achilles.

Looking for a recommendation for a Galway installer of pull down Attic Stairs.
Price and quality seems to vary, but under 300 installed seems to be doable. Person would prefer to give the work to someone local, with decent materials.

And perhaps not immediately, but someone to paint exterior of a house.

Recommendations via PM fine too, Thanks.

Rather ridiculous statement, when a simple perusal of previous pages in this thread will illustrate that people do indeed answer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 630 ✭✭✭bagels

If people have worthwhile answers then I assume they'll post them, otherwise it'd be better if they didn't comment because the last thing we need here is hundreds or thousands of posts stating "i dunno, sorry" or "sorry, can't help you" etc etc etc.
When I don't receive an answer I just assume that nobody can help and that's grand.
    Only saying.

You have asked a very specific question. Many people might be able to recommend a physio. But not too many people could confidently recommend a physio to work on their young child's calves and achilles, so they mightn't feel confident enough to recommend their physio to you, unless that's exactly what they use that physio for.

What sport does your son do? His coach may be able to recommend someone that's good with children. If not, Trish at salthill Devon football club in Drum (thera fitness) might be worth a try-not sure if she does kids herself but she would have good contacts as she has worked in Galway a while.

Hi guys and gals, a friend of mine recently moved to Galway and is a Muslim. He is looking for Halal meats/foods. Basically foods that are permissible under Islamic Shariʻah law. I don't know much about it but would like to help him out. Anyone got any info? Thanks boardies !

  • Registered Users Posts: 211 ✭✭ceatharloch

There are a few "mediterranean" stores around the city. One I know about that definitely does Halal is across the road from Maxol/McDonalds in Westside. There is also one in the string of businesses beside ALDI, Mr. Price in Westside......
